Too many Ks. Hopefully that will be corrected.

truth

pitching was bad but fielding was equally as bad and to blame for many of those losses

Damn, sounds like we had a nice offensive weekend. We scored some runs too, right?

I think RBIs and OBP are two of the most important offensive statistics. HRs are nice, but baserunners and timely hitting win ball games.

This has always been an issue. A bigger issue is allowing the opposition’s lead off man to get on base 90% of the time!!

Their pitching had a lot to do with it.

Now you have to ask how did USM compile so much better pitching than LSU…

That’s a total. What % of base runners scored?

Is that higher or lower than normal?

Total doesn’t tell you an accurate story

What is the point?

Pitching has been atrocious all year. So we leave 30 on base in 3 games, but still scored enough that it should not have been an issue.
No reason you should have to score 12 runs a game to win.

Let it go.

Absolutely could have blown it open at times, but we did well to put that kind of pressure on them. Especially that pitching staff. Of course we could have blown the game open, but it felt like every time we scored they would answer. Still feel it was more pitching than scoring runs.

if someone said we scored 7 runs, 4 runs, then another 7 runs, i would've said we def took 2 of 3

How many obvious ball 4’s did we swing and miss and strike out on. Likely 12-15

7,7,4 runs versus a team with a 3.1 ERA. Pitching had a lot to do with it. I
Mean yeah the runners left on had a lot to do with let-down effect ie get 2 outs and then leave them on. Just yesterday that happened multiple times.

It seems like several of our pitchers have one great pitch, which was good enough in high school and to get a high ranking by the recruiting services. Of course you need more than one pitch in college.
