My first game ever attended in Tiger Stadium, with my dad. I was probably about 20 rows up on the 50 yard line, East side. The mooners came right in front of us and everyone thought it was some planned entertainment.
I overheard somebody say at the game that they put vaseline on the goalposts so that they were harder to knock down. I still saw students climb on and sit / stand on the crossbars as they were torn down.

Crazy that they were talking about playoffs 25 years ago (12:45 mark) and we just added it a few years ago.

I re-traced the Billy Cannon Halloween punt return.

I remember this game. I was watching it at hunting camp on a tv using bunny ears. Great memories but horrible reception with those things.

I was 15 or 16, with my best friend, and we were sitting at the fifty yard line for that game. I recall the Tide made some kind of defensive stop or something and the husband and wife Alabama fans (who were both very large people) stood up and cheered. As they did, an 75 year old woman, LSU fan, got super angry and yelled, "sit down Fatso!"
The man turned around and was embarrassed/offended and all the LSU fans in the section immediately told that old lady that she was a bitch and to shut the F up.
just something I remember from that game.

there was a 14-14 tie in Baton Rouge in 1985.
Yeah, Ray Perkins wimped out. If I remember right, we quickly got it down field and missed an easy field goal by Ronnie Lewis.

Seasoned baby, seasoned.
Literally and figuratively.
We are lucky we got to experience those early 2000 teams.
Was a time to be alive without living with a phone in your fukin face all day.

They still tried to give it to Alabama. Thank god for the brand new Jumbotrons. My dad was there in 69 and he hoped I’d see them beat Alabama at home. When the official said first down Alabama with tears in his eyes he said “we will never beat these guys!” Call was reversed and the tigers won.

"May have been a riot"....... I was sitting several rows behind a large group of former players, lined up perfectly with where LSU recovered the fumble. Several rows up from the field. They were getting more & more riled up the longer it was taking the refs to correct their blown call. Several were working their way down to the edge of the field & everyone around us was watching the tension build & build. There was no doubt that they were getting ready to hop onto the field & rush the refs. The whole group was screaming & pointing up to the replay screen.

watch how hard the Tigers played. Very physical. I miss those days.

Unless you were there the sheer anger and hostiliy by the LSU fans during that "review", which really wasn't a 'thing' at the time is hard to describe.
