LSU is a good team. 247, ESPN, and others spend WAAAAAY too much time reading the Rant.

I don't believe a word of what's out there til I see it from Phil Steele. He's the Preminent Poobah Of Prognosticators.

Why does the O supporters always group the firing of Miles with the hiring of O?

I understood it was time for Miles to go as he had lost his competitiveness and the program was falling behind.

But

In no way was I in favor of hiring O at any point. I would have kept Miles if I knew LSU was going to bargain basement shop for a HC.

Bottom line is Alleva and LSU blew it after TAMU game in 2015.

Now the sec is loaded with good coaches and we have a coach nobody else wanted.

Oh and just a side note:

Watch how much O “loves LSU” after he is fired this year or next for having even or losing seasons.

I, and I'm willing to bet that most fans, don't want to see this decline to get really bad, to the point where we really start losing recruits.
Already happened. Off the top of my head- Justin Rogers, Patrick Surrain, Dylan Moses, Isiah Buggs, Travis Etiennne, Chris Allen, Phidarian Mathis and Marvin Wilson.

You do realize that O just lost to State by the widest margin in the entire history of that series and lost a bowl game when he was the favorite right?

It all starts with recruiting and that is my biggest concern as an LSU fan. The upcoming 2019 recruiting class will be the defining moment for Ed Orgeron’s tenure at LSU. His main attribute was his ability to recruit and him not closing with Surtain or Goodrich is a major red flag. If LSU does not sign an upper echelon QB, RB, & CB in this class, Alleva must begin a coaching search immediately because, without question, support from the major contributors will decrease drastically.

Alleva isn’t hiring another football coach. Alleva is very aware that if O fails then he fails.

Lol alleva isn’t going to be conducting another search. It’s O or bust for him.

Alleva or who the frick ever...you cannot have a sub par 2019 recruiting season. If the AD doesn’t do the search, then somebody in the administration better step up and do what it takes. If you fire your AD, you better have a top tier level candidate in the bank to step in and get ready to empty your pockets with some serious cash to get a proven HC that can be brought in.

Miles couldn't sustain the blueprint left by CNS. Heck, Miles couldn't sustain his own success! Now he was in no way another Larry Coker, but the final 3 years of Miles had LSU in a dogfight with State and losing. Miles teams were no longer winning bowl games either.

The true bottom line is Joe Alleva crippled the LSU football program in 2013 with the ridiculous SEVEN year $15 Million contract he gave Miles. He then fired Miles and conducted a coaching search that wasn't a search which resulted in the DL coach as the head coach. If that wasn't a big enough $#!T show he negotiated a contract that paid said DL coach $4.3 mil a year with a $12 Million buy out. BTW last year O's contract was ranked as the #11 best contract in the NCAA. WTF, the worst coach in OM history gets pretty much a top ten contract.

IMO, JA should have been fired the second he mentioned ED O in the coaching search conversation!

Solo Cam I am beginning to think u are a closet Bama fan! I never seen anyone so winy about LSU football. We have one of the toughest schedule in the nation! True we have a lot of new players, but have a little faith!!! Bama on the other has a gimme schedule out side of the SEC. If they are not in the playoff this year I would be really surprised!!!

Bama fans are in favor of Ed O being at LSU for life. We'll be a doormat for the SEC West.

How exactly are we going to "disappoint" and "underachieve"? Auburn, Bama, and UGA are expected losses. FU, aggy, and State are potential losses and it would be a nice surprise to beat all three. That's assuming LaTech doesn't Troy us.

7-5/8-4 is the most likely outcome, so we would need to go 6-6 or worse to disappoint/underachieve. We aren't going to be THAT bad.

If we go anything less than 9-3 then we are in heap of trouble... That would be two years of decline and it will only get worse
