Clearly the issue on this team is the defense.
Secondary is bad and DL is overrated.
Hope BK can recruit better defensive players next year.

We always needed high 30's low 40's to win this game. Especially with Mason Smith out. Defense held FSU for three and outs on like three consecutive possessions. Offense didn't do shite.

Haha. You realize we got a garbage score late when the game was out of reach and they put in some Freshmen defensive players.
We basically scored 0 points in the second half when FSU was actually trying.

What about 17? Because that’s how many points LSU had before garbage time. If FSU keeps their starters in that last TD doesn’t exist.

Both teams should be better offensively from last year given what they both returned. However, only one could do anything in the 2nd half.

We were 3/10 on 3rd down and 0/3 on 4th. If they score on the drives that were TODs, we win that game. It could have been 21-7 in the first quarter if we could punch it in.

The offense returned almost it's entire starting group. The defense has multiple first time starters and 2 portal CBs.
FSU has one of the most explosive offenses in CFB and Coleman and Wilson both carry 1st RD grades. We knew the D would struggle and counted on the veteran offense to keep pace. The D held FSU to 14 in the 1st half and eventually broke in the 3rd Qtr. The O should have done much better. The O didn't score the final TD until under 2 minutes in garbage time.

The secondary was always going to be a liability, anyone who is objective knew this.
That's it, it is what it is, you can't fix that.
Everyone that says the secondary needs to play better is wasting their breath, they will get marginally better but at some point you have to realize that your starting corners played at SELA and Syracuse last season.
The only thing you can do is offset that issue by scoring more and JD has shown us consistently throughout his career that he isn't that guy.

24 points isn’t enough to win most games these days, especially not that one, and Daniels needs to play better. But even though he needs to play better he wasn’t one of the top 5 problems Sunday.
