Oregonian here.
Solid advice. Having grown up in OR many years ago, it doesn't sound like much has changed. And yes, there are a LOT of difference between OSU and U of O. When I was at OSU it was all engineering (heavy) and science (heck, OSU didn't even offer a single graduate degree in liberal arts) whereas U of O was liberal arts (heavy) and science (some). Back then our strongest sports were men's wrestling and men's basketball.
If "Undersea Gardens" is still open (located in on the coast at Newport, about 1 hour or so from Corvallis), I'd consider going to it. The sand dunes (between Florence and Reedsport) are pretty neat as well, and not far from Corvallis.

Voodoo donuts are total garbage that only tourists go for.
Multnomah falls are pretty but if you're only going to visit Oregon once the best thing to do is to drive the coast along 101. Anywhere from about Cannon Beach to Coos Bay or Brookings is the best. Definitely stop before going into California because Northern California along the coast is garbage. The redwoods are great but other than that it's just homeless people and poverty.
Another great drive would be to Central Oregon (Bend) or to Crater Lake.
Duck fans are prissy spoiled brats that haven't won anything, but I might be biased... They recruit purely on facilities and flash. They would be your lawyers, social science majors etc. Oregon State is your more "down to earth" school... The farmers and engineers.
Oregon gets it's liberal reputation from the I-5 corridor from about Portland to Eugene but other than those places it's a bunch of conservative gun-loving farmers. The state's brand of libralism was more libertarian than liberal until the recent invasion of Californians that all of the locals despise.
Beaver fans are pretty calm and humble. The only sports we are good at right now are baseball, women's basketball and a couple other random sports. We were good at football for about a decade and then have been bad for the last decade.

Ouch, I'll be sure to let my therapist know a guy with 12 posts on Tiger Droppings says that all of my problems stem from not wanting to waste $3k on our mediocre baseball team. I'm sure she will send you a thank you note in the mail.

I was in the area last summer. It is indeed beautiful country and the weather is fantastic this time of year.

Oregon State is an A&M school BUT it does offer graduate programs in liberal arts (Master's in many areas) as well as PhD's in Psychology, Education, Geography, Anthropology, and Women/Gender Studies.

Your post sounds exactly what a true Oregonian would post. It reeks of the "I'm better than you" stance that most Oregonians live by.

You bet.

LOL!
I look forward to the day I have grandkids who'll lovingly call me "Gramps." OTOH, none of that applies to you.
I'd better get off the 'net as I see it's approaching supper time in the Pacific NW and you're mom's probably calling for you in the basement to come eat.

Lol....you come and tell folks to check out the undersea gardens and then get mad because your input was shite?
Undersea Gardens,
Eta....I would love to hear more options you have for everyone.

"weed cost?"
Most important question that hasn't been answered yet.

You're in luck! Oregon growers grew 3 times as much as we smoked last year (over a 1 million pounds was grown, not counting our black market). Prices are dropping like Luke Heimlich's MLB stock.
Eta....shop around using weed maps app. Some places are still gouging the unsuspected.

You can stop by my place and pick all the weeds you want from my flower beds. I will even cut you a deal.

we all know that you're not her. but how do you get random good seats all the time, you and Guillot must have a lot of pull.
I also heard you stand up to pee

Don't worry kid, I'm not mad. Just felt like trading insults w/ ya. And far as "Undersea Gardens" goes, I said I'd consider it. A lot things will factor into the OP's decision of where to go and what to do. OTOH, the only suggestions you've made in this thread have been to "get off I-5" and to use a "weeds map app."
Maybe he doesn't want to go to "Undersea Gardens"; OTOH, maybe he's not looking for some weed on his trip. Of course, we'd have to take your options w/ a grain of salt since you're the same guy who endorsed "Caleb owns the Hoover Met."

Random good seats where? I've sat in gold seats and paid for them outside the gate. Not friends with Guillot, although I know who he is.
As far as other random seats, I'm pretty high up in TAF. For a while, I was getting pretty big bonuses at work and used them for TAF donations. Remember the $500 George Rodrigue prints to raise money for Mike's habitat?
I became the proud owner of about 60 ($30K) of them over the years. Got my TAF points up and resold them on ebay and other sites for anywhere from $350 to $450. I got a large portion of my money back from print sales and a decent priority point rating.
Smart people know how to work their money. I made the TAF gift work for me.
