Dude had 2 bad outings all year and dominated Arkansas in Omaha.

This team has most all the pieces in place to repeat. Big question will be starting pitching. We can piece it together, but not having two sure-fire stud starters that can go 7+ innings could hold us back from winning it all.

Jay has said publicly that he anticipates that this staff may use starters to get the first 4 or so innings, then have a long reliever come in and get it to the closer. I definitely see enough quality arms to do that on this roster.
I also believe that once guys are ramped up enough and if they are effective enough to manage pitch counts, we'd see them try to get 5 IP out of a starter if he could get close to the point of being the pitcher of record.

I typically don't like this approach in college baseball but with the way this level is becoming more and more stocked with talent maybe it's worth changing my opinion. In the past it has been pretty rare for a college team to have enough quality arms to piece games together this way. All too often one guy comes in who doesn't have it that day and completely unravels the game. You see it a lot with coaches who are too eager to make pitching changes and over-manage. We even kinda saw it with UCLA last year who supposedly had this deep pitching staff. But like I said the game is changing so we'll see

Sorry to let you guys down but I took off of work this week and all my numbers are on my work computer. Last year I think they had a few others who kept up with stats also. Maybe someone else can get to it before me. If not I’ll get them posted Monday.

Good work
It's hard to predict back to back type runs but this roster should have them back in Omaha.

Makes me proud to know you work on LSU baseball at work. What the boss doesn't know won't hurt

Just get back to Omaha and let the chips fall where they may. We haven't been to the CWS in back to back seasons since 2008-09. Time to change that.

So much depth on this team, you could run out a competitive lineup just with the backups.

Don't you worry by the time the non conference schedule is over Hold That Tiger 10 will come on here and give us his opinion on who will start and how good or bad the hitting, pitching, or fielding will be and he will be dead wrong on all accounts.
And probably the only poster who will bash someone 9 times out of every 10 posts he makes.

Thank you, Wild. I had bookmarked this post to read later. What a fantastic write up. Can't wait for February...it's closer than you think.
ETA: Also a big thank you to bradygolf98 for compiling the fall ball stats. TYFYS. That thread is locked so I couldn't comment in there.
