2024 has to be the year because in 2025 we will be depleted.

The likelihood of the vast majority of starters being gone is extremely high.

Offense
OL Campbell, Jones, Frazier, Dellinger
WR Lacy, Daniels, Hilton
TE Taylor

Defense
DE Jones/Shand, Swinson
DT Guillory, Lee
LB Perkins, Penn
DB JK Johnson, Alexander, Gilbert, Burns, Ryan

Obviously Sage might not start at nickel, but we lose a rotational piece with tons of experience.

I didn't put West Weeks because I thought he'd come back as a redshirt senior.

I don't think Nuss leaves unless he gets a first round grade. If he's as good as we all think he could be, he will get that grade.

I put Taylor because he has elite talent behind him. I doubt he stays If he put up 5-600 yards and 5-6 TDs.

Just talking starters alone, we could lose 7 (low ball), and up to 9 on offense. On defense we could lose anywhere from 8 to 10 defensive starters. Of course we'll have plenty rotational guys, but the starters are older and more experienced and I'm banking on at least 8 starters being 4th+ year players and one being a 3rd year (Perkins).

I do not see them going ham on the portal either as they try to build through the freshman.

Me personally, I think this 2024 season can be a 10-2 and playoff appearance season.

Considering our recruiting class coming in and the transfer portal, this is a bad take.

It’s Playoff or bust from now until Kelly retires

We will reload in 2025.

CBK will put out a good team, but 2024’s team will probably be better than the 2025 team unless something drastic happens. I don’t believe the drop off will be that significant, though. It usually isn’t. Here are the worst drop offs since I’ve been following:

1988: 8-4; 1989: 4-7
1997: 9-3; 1998: 4-7
2003: 13-1; 2004: 9-3
2011: 13-1; 2012: 10-3
2007: 11-2; 2008: 8-5
2019: 15-0; 2020: 5-5

Dramatic drop offs do not happen very often, at least not since 1988. We’ve been fortunate enough to maintain success most of the time.

Chicken-little syndrome has plagued this program since forever. These pussies did not need access to social media.

LSU has stacked back to back top 5 classes and will likely have either the number 1 or 2 class this year. The cupboard is FAR from empty.

Take a look at Bryan Kelly’s recruiting for 2024 and 2025. We’ll be ok.

You could say this same thing for every school in the top 15. Everyone loses key players every year. Elite programs develop younger players and maintain high standards so there’s little to no drop off year to year. That’s what we’re paying BK the big bucks for.

Dude 2025 is the year most people expect LSU to explode. You are literally the only person so far I’ve seen even remotely worried about 2025 team lol

I mean, this just means being a top 10 team. That SHOULD be the expectation for LSU, top 10 every year.
