Yikes! We have some real solid talent evaluators on staff.

Talk about some awful "talent" evaluators. Were these guys all Kelly could sign?? So much for the supposed 5th to 7th overall in class recruiting rankings.

Guys do not commit to schools for their college careers. They commit to schools that will rent them for a year or two and move on to chase money.

Quite possibly the most correct post on here today!

Brown, Ausberry, and Swann did not contribute.
Gilbert ad Ochsendorf were bad, so I'm not going to celebrate the fact that we were able to get them from the portal.
And again, CJ is back in the portal.

What is even the point of high school recruiting?

You have to recruit and build the relationships, but I don't think I'm not sure how smart it is to spend a large % of the NIL budget there. I'd rather bid more on portal guys. Developing high school kids seems like a big uinvestment with little payoff.

There is a very real possibility that after the big schools start to figure out the transfer portal and NIL, we will see them using smaller school as feeder schools/developmental programs. They'll build relationships with coaches at smaller colleges like they had with high school coaches in the past.

How does this compare to other schools? I think this is the new normal for every program

Despite how he played putting LOL next to a freshman left guard who started and played full games is dumb.

LSU’s strategy to get top notch players has to evolve quickly. Almost needs to take a page out of the NFL to a degree in the NIL era. Otherwise we will be left behind and playing for table scraps regardless of who is the head coach.

Dylan Carpenter actually played some solid snaps against Oklahoma.
