First time in history a team besides LSU reached an average of above 10,000, and one commenter noted it might be the first time since the 90s LSU has not been #1 in average attendance. Still impressive numbers as always

It's actually 2 other SEC teams averaging above 10,000 fans. Impressive. Ole Miss almost made it to the 10,000 club.

No way in hell LSU averaged 10,000 people in attendance all season.

Yeah the Box is much larger so it seems much more empty, but also taking in to account empty season ticket holder seats because this was all counted off ticket sales.

The average attendance is tickets sold, not actual arse in seats?

It’s average paid attendance. And.. yes, they did have that. But, to your point, definitely not in person average attendance.

The original post just says they took the data from the schools, and most schools have been using ticket sales rather than actual head counts.

it just could be the first time since official attendance numbers have been kept that LSU isn't #1.

You cannot compare the atmosphere at Baum or the Dude to Box. Both are infinitely better and to see them right there with LSU says something.

I would believe that. I took average attendance to mean people actually attending.

Yeah. I don't think actual head counts would have been anywhere even remotely close to 10,000 on average for the season.

CPM gets a lot of unwarranted criticism. IMO, he had a very good tenure.

But we were like .500 in the SEC over his last 3-4 years. That's a hard pill to swallow after being national seeds from '12 to '17.

I think it was those 3 or 4 avg years that some fan interest declined and is reflected here.

I don't think this is on CJJ.

The thing is, I don’t even think it’s the last 3-4 years of play that is the problem. All of those season tickets holders are still buying, as you can tell by the 10,000+ average.

Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miss St all have much better atmospheres than us. Every weekend they have several hundred people walk up and buy tickets because it a fun place to be, no matter how good or bad they are. Obviously winning helps, but our atmosphere definitely is hurting our numbers

Seriously now, I was being triggering when I pinned CJJ to it.

As you said, Skip started it and Skip ended it. Great coach. Terrible AD.

We should get those Iberville Parish guys to come try to truck move New Box off campus.

They need to count butts in the seats at the games.I
don`t think LSU fans came close to having 10000 people
in the stands all season.Evan big SEC games half the stands
were were empty.
Its great that LSU sells 10000+ season tickets every year,
but fan support at the games leaves alot to be desired.
LSU fans live in the past unless we are always in the
hunt for a NC we don`t show up.

Arkansas was #1 and ahead of LSU by an average of 759 per game in 2007. 2007 was the only time before this season.
