Oklahoma's Saturday starter, behind Jonathan Gray, Overton fits the mold of the college lefty, one who has average stuff but with some knowledge of pitching. Overton's fastball will touch 91 mph, though there is some room for growth in his frame, meaning he could gain a tick or two with some maturity. His curve has been inconsistent but has the potential to be an average breaking ball. He doesn't throw his changeup enough, and it will have to improve as he moves to the next level. Generally around the plate, if Overton can develop three average pitches, he has the chance to be a big league starter in the future.

WTF I didn't think he was that good
He was considered a better prospect than Gray coming into the season. He's has been projected to go 2nd-3rd round all year.

He is a big lefty with a 90+ mph fastball, MLB scouts love those guys

No. He doesn't. Even if he doesn't sign pro, he won't qualify for LSU.

Thanks. I prefer to have my experts on TD.com do the research for me. Look forward to seeing what round everyone goes.

Jared Poche is def. coming to LSU. I talked to him a couple weeks ago and all he talked about was LSU. Plus his Dad, Uncle and Grandfather are all Doctors and money is not an issue. He's going to get at leas 3 years maybe 4 in.

I hope you're right with Williams. I figured if he went in the 1st round he was a lock to go pro. Maybe he'll view LSU as an opportunity to increase his future draft stock.

I am not a CPA but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express:
$1,050,000 salary - $370,000 federal taxes, $41,000 state taxes, $30,000 social security taxes, and $52,500 agent fee(5%?) = $556,500.
53% net.
