When Gallagher of UCLA came to the plate in the 3rd inning tonight, Mike Patrick said "I asked John Savage if he's ever seen a hotter hitter than Gallagher, to which Savage emphatically said NO". Gallagher is 5 for 17 in CWS, or 0.294.

Baseball as it was played 105 years ago. As in 1908.

Why is that year significant?

Pretty dead gum boring. No excitement at all. Not wasting my money on making the trip to Omaha if this is what it's like, that'd be one expensive nap.

It's not. Just a random, pre-Babe Ruth year from the deadball era.

This CWS is 1908 baseball.

UCLA hasn't scored more than 4 runs in any of their 5 CWS games.

UCLA has given up 1 run in each of its 4 games...thus winning the previous 4 games and up in their 5th.

Unreal a team can possibly not score more than 4 runs in any one game in Omaha and win the whole god damned thing.

Gotcha. Didn't want to flame unless I knew you were trying to pick the first year of baseball.

Carry on.

Im not interested in the CWS one bit, and that is sad.

It's like the park was custom made for them. Good job by their coach recruiting and teaching his players with this type of park in mind for the CWS. His team wouldn't win in a lot of parks, but this one is perfect for their approach.

Couldn't agree more. The sad part is I want to win it all but not at the expense of watchable baseball like this. I hope they just change the damn baseball to the MLB ball.

I can't decide what is more exciting watching paint dry or this game.

Apparently Jackie Robinson stadium plays very similar to TDAmeritrade. As you said, tip your cap to them. And I'm glad to see that our hitters aren't the only ones that can't lay off the high heat.

Yeah, this is pretty hard to watch. Credit to UCLA for sticking to their style and forcing the issue on their opponents. But damn it's boring.

Now I see why they only get a thousand or so fans a game.

He recruited, and plays, to their stadium, not TD Ameritrade. Fortunately for him, they play in similar situations at home.
