LSU Top 5 preseason ranking, RP scheduled to start gets dismissed for undisclosed reasons. There was a expression of joy. LSU had maintained its image and prestige and there were reports young texas gun waiting in the stable and was possibly better than RP. Andrew hatch was just an insurance policy. The defense is said to be the strongest it has been in years possibly stronger than the national championship team, with a powerful and explosive rb tandem waiting to take the field. The receivers are said to possibly be the best in the league............then misery followed. Hopefully i havent seen this movie before and there is an happier ending.

Holy shite. You can't be real. Our Defense is so stacked it should kick you in the face.

In my opinion, 2008 was a big downgrade and we knew it at the time. In 2011, most people feel it's an upgrade (at the minimum close to break even).

we are better on both sides of the ball and have a much better coaching staff. however, if the distraction shows up for the season it can be disappointing.

no one who was around that team expected much, not as bad as it got but the #5 was a joke.

and it's a totally different team and mindset...

the hurricane must have affected your look on things. man, there are enough differences to think things will be better

1)our back-up qb is a 5 yr sr and his back up is quite talented and has some college experience
2)our OL is going to be very good if not stellar
3)we have a qb coach
4)we're aren't coming off of a nc thinking we walk on water

In 2008, we had a Qb with too weak an arm for any FBS team, a RS freshman and true Freshman. We had Crowton as OC who had no idea how to develop QBs and we had a debacle at DC with the Co-DC issues. No one was happy with RP leaving either, but many were so fed up that it was just a matter of when, and it also happened in the spring not just before the season.

This year, we had a RS-SR QB, a RS Sophomore QB, and some young guns along with a decorated coach for our QBs in Krags. We have the same DC that has given us two top 10 defenses in a row, and aren't coming off a national title. There are a lot of things that are completely different, so I don't get your point.

This, if you go back to 2008, we scored enough points to win games. However the Maleveto defense couldnt stop no body. Has to be one of the worst defenses to ever be for the Tigers. You hit the nail on the head. Huge difference this year from 2008.
