20 years ago today...

I was at the Satelitte Feed in Memphis, at the time a sports bar in the middle of the city. Decent place. Me and a Miss St fan go to watch the final. Couple other LSU fans there along with 10 or so "Miami" fans.

One UM douche was strutting and crowing like a rooster that just hit the hottest chicken in the yard in the bttm of the 9th. Just wouldn't STFU

He's yacking and I'm pissed and I blurt out Morris is hitting a homer here and ending it for you...he laughs says he aint hit one all year, hahahaha.....and then boom. The LSU crowd is all over each other...the Miami dude heads for the exit asap another word never to be heard from him

great memory

15 years old, the immediate family along with aunt, uncle, and cousin went to Percy Quinn State Park for a weekend camping trip in tents. We rigged a television up to a tree with old rabbit ears antenna high up in the tree, while we watched in lawn chairs. Miami fans in the lot across the street had a sweet RV and we could hear them cheering from inside their cozy satellite air conditioned safe space. When Morris hit the HR our area exploded with noise and the RV went silent.

Today our family buried my aunt that was with us on that trip as she passed away this past weekend.

I was there in the bleachers in left field. It was an awesome moment to say the least. It was the only game I got to see in Omaha that year. We had car trouble in Kansas City on the way up and got to Omaha the night before the game. We bought some cheap tickets but it was some of the best money I ever spent.

Doesn't seem like 20 years ago.

Thankfully our football program has evolved since then.

One of my first days working as a fifteen year old at bayou segnette wave pool. My dad picked me up and told me everything about the game. Damn... Time really moves

I've always wished that I would have been old enough to remember this. I honestly can't imagine how crazy I would have gone watching that. I get chills watching the video even though I have no memory of it.

I was in law school at Mississippi College in Jackson. Watched it in a sports bar with a classmate buddy who is also an LSU grad. There were a lot of Ole Miss people in there rooting against LSU (interestingly, the Miss. State people-who, unlike Ole Miss, had a good baseball program were rooting for the Tigers).

It was a classic game. I remember telling my buddy before the bottom of the 9th that whatever happened, it was one of the best college baseball games I had ever watched. Little did I know how great it was about to become. We had a blast.

I was a groomsman in one of my buddies wedding. We were at the church taking pictures before the wedding. Finally we convinced the bride to let us go find a TV. All of our tuxes were wrinkled and nasty from jumping all over each other and dogpiling after Morris hit that homer. You would have thought we played for LSU after the way we celebrated.
