If LSU gets the ball to start and can put up 7, I feel like the pressure of being down right away in such an intense matchup where they have to know that we are the better team and realizing they have to play from behind against our Defense will get in their heads. The adrenaline their players have from the crowd will be watered down and reality will set in. It goes without saying but Leavitt has to protect the ball and avoid a turnover. After seeing how he started vs La Tech, that should be our main concern.

We have yet to get a first down on our first possession through 2 games this year. I'd love to see us start on defense for a change lmfao.

Leavitt HAS to protect the ball.

We are going to have to win 1st down and average over 4.0 yards a carry.

So you’re saying that if LSU gets the ball first and scores a touchdown, it’s a good thing? Thanks man. This board appreciates your ball knowledge.

Id rather we defer. Force the fans to calm down while their offense has the ball, and we put our best unit on the field.
And I prefer to score first in the second half and set the tone.

Furthermore, I feel like if we can consistently score more points than we allow them to score, we will win the game. And if we keep winning games throughout the season, we will almost certainly make the college football playoffs.

That’s a great thought that I haven’t considered!
