We are thin on depth but the talent is better now. D has youth but extremely talented

O isn't youthful but we are bad there

This isn't one of our most talented teams but I think people are blowing it out of proportion. We have some talent here

Talent is probably better but coaching is worse, which isn't something I ever thought I'd say.

I think hiring O just completely accelerated the decline to a complete free fall

We are seeing it now

Regrettably, 2017 may be worse.

I find it pretty crazy that basically no one on the team is old enough to remember the last time LSU was this bad.

Time will tell but it's a legitimate question. The 99 team lost a ton of very close games. They were competitive almost every week.

1999 fan base/student section >>>> 2017 fan base/student section

Now get off my lawn!

Pretty sure we've already won as many games as 1999. This team won't be winning any titles, but that team was terrible. TERRIBLE. C'mon man.

Lol we were blown out by Aubrun, Kentucky, Florida ,Ole Miss and beat easily by Houston in 99, that's half the schedule. But hey when fueling and agenda who cares right?

IMO 2008 = 2017

I see 7-5 finish with maybe a nailbiting loss again a good team

People predicting a 4-5 win team haven't watched much SEC football this year.

Tennessee almost lost to winless UMass. A&M and Arky both look terrible. UF needed a furious comeback to beat fricking Kentucky. We're not that good and I'm not happy with how this season is shaping up, but we're good enough for 7-8 wins this year.

LSU started out 2-0 in '99, then hit the SEC schedule. Didn't have the luxury of playing a downed Syracuse and Troy following their 1st SEC loss.

I feel the 2008 team even though were bad was more physical and tougher than this team.

This quote lets me know you don't know our roster. Just the additions of Fehoka and Shevin makes us better on the Dline that will return Lawrence and Alexander. That's 4 studs. Every inside LB but D. Alexander back and will have basically entire secondary back. Just have to fill Corey Thompson's shoes and Divinity started there as a freshman early on last year. Key hasn't been very good so far so nowhere to go but up at that position. Chaisson will be good there.

Offensively we need WRs to step up this year to have momentum going into next. Chark is only loss. Brennen will most likely be an upgrade over Etling. RB is the main area of concern for next season. O line will be better as long as we pull in the JUCO target we want.

Talent is better. But zero leadership on or off field.
