True, but we've lost 18 players that still had eligibility left if Collins goes I believe. You are trying to play semantics here when you clearly understood his intent was that LSU has lost a ton more players with eligibility than its peers.

TY.
At least one other person gets it.

Last year was a combo of redshirt ing a lot if talent from the 2008 class and playing 3 year starters from the 2009 class

And this year we just had an explosive offense

The NFL is going to kill College Football the same way the NBA did to College Basketball.

If you don't think this trend a problem for LSUs success I don't what to tell you.

Why such a wide margin between rest of the conference...?
Somehow, I think this reality had better dawn on Les Miles. If he is in any way encouraging his team to think about LSU as a fast-track to NFL $$$ then he has found yet one more way to shoot himself in the foot.

You can't really blame guys that were 4th year juniors, since they'd been in college for 4 years.

I think this year will be worse in that regards with players only being here 2 or 3 years leaving, but in some cases you can't blame them.

Hill, Turner, OBJ, Landry, and Freak are all in their 3rd years on campus. If Collins leaves, that will make 6 players that literally spent 3 years on campus. Last year, LSU lost Reid, Simon, Ware, and Mathieu after 3 years, and yes I realize Mathieu wasn't really a part of the team at that point.

Ego, like Montgomery, Mingo, Ford, Logan and Minter, put in a full 4 years at LSU.

That means LSU stands to lost up to 10 3rd year players in 2 years. That is impressive when you realize that's 20% of a recruiting cycle of which maybe 60% of the players pan out at most.

In the end, I can't blame the players, but it is very odd.

I understand your point, but I agree with the others that you should put accurate information up to make your point rather than half-arse it and leave your argument up to scrutiny over accuracy rather than meaning.

The real issue will depend on how Les recruits from here on out. His class will be solid this year, but losing out on a ton of home grown talent to rivals and having so many players leaving early will hurt this teams chances at conference titles, much less NCs.

No, they aren't. Hill is 2 years.

abortion    [? bôr's?h?n]noun
The definition of abortion is when a pregnancy ends abruptly, either voluntarily or involuntarily, and the fetus is expelled from the womb before it can live on its own.

I think the word you're looking for is abhorrent. Not sure why so many people use the wrong word there

How in the world is anybody supposed to guess the reason why, besides they want to get paid ASAP?

Abortion is the correct word.

"You started this abhorrent thread" would be correct as abhorrent would be your adjective.

"You started this abortion of a thread." Abortion is correct as it is the subject. "of a thread" is set of by a preposition...i think

this whole argument is dumb because the numbers will always be skewed by last years numbers. If LSU set another record this year with early entries it would be a problem, but they aren't they are on par with the other SEC teams. So by comparing only the last 2 years your are being intellectually dishonest with your argument.

Almost all the underclassmen entering this year can do little to nothing to better their draft stock. other than maybe the linemen.

Yeah, an abortion.
LSU loses more players than any other school.

You're in denial, it's ok to be mad, makes me angry too.

Okay, let's see if I can update these numbers. I don't vouch for the accuracy, but I did find some numbers:

2013 SEC Underclassmen LINK

Alabama - 3
Arkansas - 2
Auburn - 1
Florida - 4
Georgia - 3
LSU - 11, includes Mathieu
Missouri - 1
USC - 2
Tenn - 4
aTm - 2

2014 SEC Underclassmen so far LINK

Alabama - 5
Auburn - 2
Florida - 3
LSU - 5, does not include Turner
Miss - 1
Missouri - 2
USC - 4
Tenn - 1
aTm - 2
Vandy - 1

We played a tone of people from three classes

2008 we redshirted a bunch and a lot of them stayed 4 years.
2009 You can only really say Tharold Simon left too early. Reid is a beast, and Ware was only gonna get less carries
2010 OBJ, Jarvis had 1000 yards years, and we are losing our QB, who comes back in that situation? Hill had a monster year and RBs only come back 4 years if they have to. Ego is a 4 year player. Freak and Turner could stand another year though.

so of the 18 maybe 4 should have come back

so basically 2013 was an anomaly and 2014 is par for the course for programs that recruit well.

but you can't bash Miles without including last year....thus this thread
