Looks like my bitching and complaining about why we can't be more like Kentucky may have worked.

The Alcorn State game was well-attended, the energy in the place was great, the fan section was super fun, and it created an ambiance I know LSU is capable of establishing.

Kudos to the loyal royal purple and gold fans and the LSU athletics staff for the accomplishment. The 2017-2018 season is starting off very promising!

You have to promote the program. You have to almost give away tickets... and then you have to win to sustain it. Brady and Trent didn't understand the need to promote the program.

In my opinion they do a good enough job of promoting. For example, when LSU had the #1 prep player in the nation with Ben Simmons, advertisements were all over South Louisiana touting that fact. It's just that fans do not show up like they should but it looks like finally the tide is turning.

If LSU is gonna be considered to be one of the best athletic powerhouses in the nation, the fans are gonna have to show up and support basketball which is one of the most popular sports in the world.

Basketball is fun to watch. I have little doubt that place will be jammed for most games if Coach Wade starts turning the program around. The PMAC is a wild place when the team is run right.

Always have needed two things. We have never had those two things until now. 1: a recruiter. 2: a really good coach.

We have been searching for that combo for decades. Finally have it!

Brian Lazare was extremely quick, almost in a scolding manner, to point out that that's paid attendance. Still better high paid attendance than low.

I wonder what the actual attendance was. I wish LSU still released that for basketball and baseball games.

Football has always been paid attendance only.

I was there and it was about half but it stayed that way the entire game. Team gave fans reason to stick around.

Yeah, I guessed 7k-7500 that night... Still for an opening night against Alcorn for a team that won 2 SEC games last year, it's something, hope all those people show back up and bring a friend on Thursday

I'll be there

You realize they were selling a lot of those tickets for $1, right?

Face value for all non-conference games is under $10. LSU woke up and finally did something that made sense
