Alabama is on a historical run right now so it shouldn’t be hard to believe that everyone talks about them all the time. If it were LSU running roughshod over everyone every year then they would be talking about LSU all the time.

No dude it isn’t. They take care of business when they get in the championship game so it’s not like they didn’t belong. To say they weren’t one of the 4 best teams in the country last year is being dishonest. The same goes for 2011, to say LSU and Alabama weren’t the top 2 teams in the nation is just an outright lie. They have belonged in every title game.

They might have been the best team in the playoffs but to say 100% they were one of the 4 best teams is an impossible conclusion. Auburn was better for one game. They were one of the 4 teams the committee chose as being the 4 best is as close as you can get.

Based on what? When they won the SEC, yes, they belonged but when they didn't, I don't think they belonged in the title game. But the metric for choosing the playoff teams is a moving target with the committee literally making it up as they go. Herbstreit was right, politics has taken over the CFP committee.
