I was at a hotel bar in Baton Rouge attending a multi-day seminar. The next day's speaker turned out to be a North Carolina graduate. He had the following picture up in the lecture room when we all showed up and thanked LSU profusely for putting down the Dukies.

Great pics and memories

Watched the whole game on my couch. Can't believe it's been ten years, shoutout to Darnell Lazare for that huge first half.

That was magical for sure. The 1986 run is still the Tourney that tops my memory list of LSU basketball.

Florida beat us twice and had a much better team that season. Would have been a 3rd loss

I remember Reddick whining like a bitch to the refs because LSU wasn't letting him shoot his 3's uncontested.

I was going crazy in University Commons that night. Those were some great memories.

Pretty much this
That run against Purdue, Anyhony Wilson with the buzzer beater against Memphis (can't remember their big but he was a stud), Georgia Tech and John Sally then UK and Kenny Walker in the regional final at the Omni in the ATL....

Whenever I see or hear JJ Redick's name, I think of this --

Hollow memory considering current state of the program.

My favorite moment was near the end of the game after a Duke bucket. Thomas took the in bounds pass caught it near the sideline, faked out a Duke player and took it straight to the basket and JAMMED it home!!!! Great moment.

Willam Bedford for Memphis (State).

First two rounds at home with a double OT win, then the buzzer beater. So much excitement. Then to go to Atlanta and beat Georgia Tech and Kentucky.

The girl I was dating at the time and I broke up that day. I literally drove from her house to my buddies to watch the game. Then we won and went out in tigerland. It was a weird experience.

What sucks is LSU has only made 2 NCAATs since then. And John Brady has made none.

Like another poster said, did you watch either game LSU played vs. UF that year? The first meeting was down to the last 4 minutes of the game and they pulled ahead.

In the SEC tourney, we played without Tyrus and depended heavily on LaZarre and Rolle. Tyrus was the equalizer to Florida.

We smashed Tennessee at home that year who ended up being a 2 seed. They beat Florida twice if I recall.

We had a killer schedule that year but it only served us well.

But to say that Florida had a "better team' -- well, we were 14-2 in the SEC and they were not.

Tyrus was amazing that season. Maybe my favorite Tiger ever

I did.

They had a better coach, better post play, better guards with more consistent outside shooting. We would have lost.
