Scott is like a woman walking into a car dealership when he meets with agents

No he needs to leave LSU. He is the worst QB we have had since Harris. Don’t want him back

I thought it was pretty interesting .. back in the 90s I didn’t care/know about contracts and we did t have social media to tell us.

That said I also didn’t know a presser had been set for a new coach but the cancelled .. said new coach couldn’t pay his own buyout — which apparently is how it used to be — and then decided to not come.

Enter Dinardo. And his buyout?? Gordy and someone else did a “dinardo buyout donation” day. Like a ding dong I went and donated $20 .. got a “I was part of the dinsrdo buyout” tshirt.

Cegnetti at Indiana got a 6 year deal, has one good season and gets an 8 year extension.

5 year contracts are not a reality.
and Indiana will come to regret that absurd extension.

Indiana hasn’t played anybody worth a damn, will get crushed by Ohio State, and go back to irrelevance next year. But they’ll be stuck with a bad extension.

Gutless ADs are everywhere.

Scott can’t negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag. O had us in trouble with multiple things and he couldn’t negotiate one cent off the deal and then giving BK 10 years after he gave Jimbo 10.

How so?

LSU was shitting the bed in the coaching search. Hired Kelly at last minute (even tho posters here said everyone else was just a smoke screen.

Kelly was old and didn’t do shite at Notre Dame.

“But he was the most winningest coach”

And he still couldn’t do shite at notre dame with that pussy arse schedule. What made people think he could come here to the SEC and do better?

shite hire.

Yup.
It was a big deal when Saban had no huyout clause.

The pendulum will swing back. Schools will see the crap Scott stuck LSU and Texas A&M with and say no more

5 yr contract with incentives to extend given you don’t pull a Brian Kelly in year 3 would be a fantastic negotiating point.

It will be interesting to see how schools battle the agents. I think someone is always willing to pay. Especially after a few coach are successful with the new NIL landscape.

I agree. He only made the playoff twice during 13 or 14 years and his won/loss record averaged 9-4 for all of those years and he
doesn't seem to be having any trouble keeping his average up while at LSU. The man obviously doesn't know how to call plays or even how to hire someone who can. They never should have hired him and they should use his tantrum in last nights game to fire his butt. No golden parachute for this crusty loser!

When he asked Chris Hilton, "Who the f**k do you think you are?", Hilton should have looked him in the eye and told him, "I'm the guy who going to hit the shower and then hit the portal after the season and I'm taking half of your football team with me."

Kelly has never been a winner because he doesn't think he ever makes a mistake. This team should show him what a big mistake he has made this time. Everything that Kelly said to him, sounded like an illegal verbal assault to me. Kid needs to talk to a lawyer.

It's legit question bc of the buyout and how long of the contract. I HATE those contracts. Change it to where they make more money if they win and less if they suck. I'v been saying this for several years.

Lawyers of the Rant….. how incredibly difficult could it fricken be to put results based clauses in the damn contract?

Say…If you lose 8 games in a two year span the remaining contact is void. Or something similar??

Yeah, I thought that when it was announced how much per year and the length of the contract. Way too much total money. A lot of people say he would have turned them down, F--- it, you move on to someone else. A coach doesn't hold all the cards, especially if he wants to compete at the highest level, you have leverage. 5 years/ 6 million per is what should have been offered. Right now you could get out of this shite hole for $12 million, instead you have 3 more years minimum with Kelly just to buy out at $40 million if he still is stinking it up.
