And one 4th down and 1 away from being ranked as a top 3 team.

Yep. That call will haunt them when the season is over

If we just miss the playoff...
I just plugged into ESPNs playoff simulator that was updated today that lsu finishes 9-3 with a loss @Tennessee and it says LSU still has a 64% chance of making the playoff in that scenario
That loss would be meaningless if we win out and could still be meaningless if we lose one more

And some of you clowns were ready to get rid of Baker 2 weeks ago

Hell, they were ready to get rid of Kiffin two weeks ago.

It was still the right call. If we went for it and got stuffed (as was happening over and over again that night) and they punched it in on a short field, you’d be calling for Kiffin to be fired. Hindsight is bullshite if it’s entirely based on a best case scenario of what might have been.

I don’t think so at all. That wouldn’t have been a reckless call, simply an aggressive one. Fans like aggressive calls. I think it was chicken shite to not go for it on that fourth down.

U telling me Kiffin can't come up with a play to gain one yard? bullshite. You've got to have a play like that ready.

For old timers that was the right call. In this new age of analytics the correct call is to go for it. You saw Kiffin and Sark both go for a 4th and 1 from their own 30s yesterday and those calls iced the game. When 1 yard can put a game away, analytics will always say go

I don't want to get rid of him but he was just as much to blame as CLK for that game. The first play and the last play of the game all he had to do was stop a run up the middle and if he does that either one of those plays we win.

Then please explain why Kelly was an idiot for going for it on 4th down on other teams’ goal lines repeatedly instead of “taking the points”. Or do you not remember the hundreds of threads on the subject?

I’m sure we have dozens; all of them require the offensive line to at least pretend to do their jobs for a couple of seconds, which they were utterly incapable of doing that night. He could have called the perfect play and there was still a very good possibility the team wouldn’t execute it.

Analytics don’t take into account your offensive line playing incompetently all night. We looked like absolutely dogshit that series. The idea that we were just going to magically turn that around because we had a pressure cooker fourth down is absurd.

I bet we arent 1st in punting. I check the stats after every game and the other teams punter average 10 yards more per punt than Chadwick. How is this guy LSU's punter blows my mind

CLK, in his post game PC, actually said that the analytics said to punt. He said he just felt that the over all game. to that point, had the Tigers been successful being aggressive & he wanted to keep that momentum.
