You stupid frick. There is No Split title. You were Given the AP trophy and Honor.(This was also determined after the Rose Bowl BEFORE LSU AND OK PLAYED) The BCS is the Determining body of the NCAA football world. The AP dosent decide shite

You wouldn't be saying that had we won the AP instead of the BCS.

Actually, Yes, yes I would. The AP does not decide the NC any longer. The BCS does and The BCS has a game for that. If you dont win the game. You have no claim to anthing. Reguardless what media outlets say.

You do realize that it's the MEDIA that awards the AP trophy, don't you...?

Of COURSE they're going to recognize the AP poll, IT'S THEIR OWN POLL.

By the way, the AP voted LSU #1 after the 2007 season, so LSU has both trophies, Coaches and AP, for 2007.

I do realise this and I do realise that their poll is used in a part to detmine the BCS poll. I understand all of that. What I dont understand is how everyone can agree to a system and Half way through decide, I dont like it so I quit and I am going home. I do realise that the AP awarded LSU in 07 but just like I said earlier, Great but they do not determine the national champion. It is nothing more than a social club crowning a team their national champions.

I was leaving NO the day after the 07 NC and I saw the paper with miles and the AP trophy sitting on the table. I remember thing to myself, how awesome would that be if he sent it back to the AP and told them he didnt need a big paper weight.

I can understand not wanting to recognize the AP, but the fact is that it is an opinion poll of 'experts' and there is great demand nationally for their opinions. It has been around longer than the old UPI-turned-USAToday/Coaches Poll and the BCS is just a formula used to determine the final coaches poll.

Neither poll champioin is sanctioned by the NCAA, however, so it could be argued that they are equally invalid.

I just saw the mock BCS rankings on ESPN, and the top 3 are Boise, Oregon, and TCU. If the BCS ends up being TCU vs Boise, I think you might start re-thinking what poll is best.

ETA: LSU was #6.

Aren't you guys on major probation for all the cheating that went on at the University of Sanctioned Cheaters? STFU and recognize that you cheated that year as well and LSU is the National Champions of 2003.

Not really, dude. There isn't a governing body that decides a 'true' national champion. The NCAA crowns a national champion in FCS, but by having a separate FBS division, the FBS teams are opting out of NCAA-sanctioned NC-crowning.

This really only means that the national champion is decided by opinions. The BCS has its own opinion, and the AP has its own opinion. The people who control the big four bowls got together and decided to sanction a system that crowns the winners of their bowls. This totally makes sense because it creates a system where the conferences want to send their #1 teams to those bowls, making their bowls the most important bowls, therefore generating the most profits for them. It's all about the $$$. It doesn't make the BCS more 'official' than the AP because the bowl system is still designed by people seeking money, not by an official athletic body.

Therefore it really comes down to who people think is the best team, and nowadays most people turn to the BCS system to determine that. And I agree. But neither the BCS nor the AP is perfect. And neither is more 'official' than the other. Just the BCS is favored by the people who run the bowls.

Reggie on the take is not USC cheating, no matter how bad you want it to be. An arrogant AD, since fired, was responsible for a lack of oversight. So, to answer your question, no, we're not on probation for cheating, just for not being vigilant enough to know that we used an ineligible player. And LSU are BCS Champions of 03, just as USC are the AP Champs. WE like it that way, and if YOU dont then frick YOU.

What in the frick or you idiots talking about. I just looked up the record book and USC didn't even play in the championship game in 03???

The record book also shows that LSU was BCS nation champions and it doesn't list USC? Strange.

I think this must be the convergence of parallel universes or something.

OK OK I realize the the AP broke there word and voted USC the ap champion. So basically for dumb fricks that think the AP has meant something in recent years, the ap had to cheat for USC to even get that stinking crap.

AP sucks! AP is meaningless! Get use to it.

You obviously don't know anything about Les Miles, The dude lives off of luck. The way things are shaping up this year, wouldn't shock me if luck carries us to a NC.

Oh crap did someone call LSU lucky again. I have been called worse. Next time think of something more derogatory to say.

I watch a lot of LSU football. Saturday's game wasn't luck, LSU deserved every bit of that win. Some of the other games this season were very lucky. You have to be lucky and good to win it all though, and if you win out, nobody can say you didn't deserve it.

Miles wins games because he has talent in spite of his coaching ability.

We don't have a defense, and are feeling the effects of some crippling sanctions, so for us to go and take it to Stanford on the road last night was anything but upsetting to me. Also, your team is riding its luck, and mark my words, the wheels will come off at some point this season. I am guessing this will happen first up at Auburn, and later when Bama comes to call in Baton Rouge. You have a lot of talent, but as a team, you aren't championship material. At all. What is funny is that you don't seem to know it.

As for not recognizing a split National Championship in 03, that is your right, but it makes you look stupid. It works just fine for me.
