LSU, O, and Woodward are mentioned in the article.

Neat. Jimbo isn't our coach.

Are you trying to use a coach's performance at another SEC west school to predict how he'd do at LSU? You really want to go down that road?

Yes, you used Coach O's performance at Ole Miss to predict his performance at LSU !!!!

And how'd that work out?

You're making my point and don't even realize it.

I think LSU had the best season in college football history with a NC quickly.

A&M is an SEC West opponent every year. They're relevant to LSU football.

Just like discussion of Burrow, Les, Simmons, Lemahieu, Shaq, Fournette, etc. are all appropriate here, even though none of them are at LSU anymore.

A&M is in a tough situation recruiting wise.

They have to compete for talent with the SEC and Texas and to a lesser degree Baylor and other Texas schools .

We have always gotten a few guys from Houston too.

I have no doubt that Jimbo is a very good coach. It might not matter how much they pay him though. A&M might just be snakebit being in Texas

Agreed on a lot of these points. The biggest thing AM has going for it is the endowment money and the fact that it is the only Texas school in the SEC. That same fact makes it brutal for them to win consistently.

They've actually recruited quite well in see Jimbo. #4 in 19(ahead of us), #6 in 20(just a couple behind us). They just haven't developed well at positions that are on Jimbo's side of the ball, qb, wr, te(injuries have played a major part) and OL. The defense has actually been better since he arrived. I think he's a solid coach that hit rich with his QBs at FSU and won a title. Essentially what O has done so far. I'm glad we didn't get him though because I think he has become somewhat apathetic since landing at TAM and want no parts of that contract. We will see if he can turn it around but I don't have high hopes.

I agree; however, consider that Saban was our former coach and has contacts all throughout LA. You can even throw Jimbo himself as a former LSU guy in that mix. He came to Shreveport to try to get Marshall to sign.

LSU fans could well be complimenting Woodward’s savvy for saddling a division rival with a contract that has them treading water. A&M will have $52.5 million guaranteed to Fisher after this season
