how crappy of a QB Nuss was this season.

Is Nuss the only second year starting QB to actually regress?

Arch had an O-line, a competent play caller, and a lack of injury tonight. Grant it he can run, which is something Nuss didn't do even in 2024, but not sure your comparison is all that valid.

Arch is not a true freshman.

It is hard to play quarterback with an oblique injury. Drew Brees found that out.

Anyone still whining about Nuss should be put on a list of posters to never take seriously regarding any topic ever again.

Nuss had a very disappointing season, but I'm getting tired of people shitting on the kid. He stuck with LSU, won us a lot of games and represented LSU well, he just had a lot stacked against him this year. I wish him the best going forward.

Thank goodness that Moo States 3rd string QB worked out for you guys, when he took over for Nuss, right?

You might not want to keep reminding people that you were for that

Texas’s O-line is bad. One of the weakest spots on the team.

He didn't regress.

He's definitely injured. Probably affected his decision making too.
Last year all we complained about was that he took a few chances and didn't run enough. But we supported him. I don't know why people think he just magically turned into a completely different quarterback. None of his throws look the same. From accuracy to velocity. He's never been a scrambler. And his job is also much harder when you get a pass rush from a team dropping 8, and you can't run the ball. He's never had great pocket awareness, but it wasn't as noticeable last year because he got a lot better protection and made more plays

Mike Detillier below:

"There’s no question. He’s injured. To what extent, only a few really know. But he’s not making the throws he made a year ago, and his accuracy has varied. He’s always going to take some chances, it’s who he is, but you can tell something is not right physically with him. No one ever questioned his arm strength, but the ball is just flat on him, and he’s short or inaccurate with some throws. No question, his injury has affected his play.

He’s a competitor, too, so sometimes, as a coach and with advice from a medical staff, you have to protect him also."

He’s a 23 year old man who got paid …a lot.

He was a huge disappointment, along with Brian Kelly and quite a few others.

Nuss could have had a Heisman year with Texas's line and coaches. Arch Manning is at best an adequate QB with so much more to work with.

I agree. And when I was thinking about this, I also felt that Peyton and Eli weren't always super great either, but their teams still won...a lot. And in the end, that's what makes the Mannings leaders: they are winners.

The real question is why did LSU have a MSU reject as backup? Van Buren is awful and we can all thank that pig Brian Kelly for that and one of the worst offensive lines ever.
