I was never a LK proponent as a head coach. But I don't think that stuff really matters. Not in the societal Wild West we live in now.

I am 57 and some of my takes put me in the “old” camp but I have thought from the get-go the basketball hoop thing looks like something Tulane or Wake Forrest would do at a Thursday night game in front of 18k fans.

Players out partying on Friday night doesn’t help.

That shite absolutely matters. How you run your program from micro to macro matters.

I´d ban the basketball hoop just because I think someone´s gonna break their ankle doing stupid shite on it.

LSU is basically Colorado under Deion this season with more resources.

I too remember people like the rock and lil Wayne on the sideline at Colorado games.

That shite is cool and all that until you get the absolute shite kicked out of you a few times.

Who should we have hired instead of Kiffin?

Kiffin can’t even sniff Saban’s jockstrap.

They really shouldn’t have the kid with the fire extinguisher dancing crap before the end of the third quarter just because LSU took its first lead. That just signals to Bama that you think you’ve won the game already.

I also agree that Kiffin is way too concerned about creating the celeb circus and peripheral crap like unnecessarily telling fans to start drinking early than he is about winning the football game. It showed. They got outcoached. Bama’s coaches made better use of their two weeks with a less expensive roster.

But that’s what you get with Kiffin. A very good offensive coach who’s an attention whore. I personally like Kiffin and the creativity and chances he gives us despite the antics- which only irritate you when they lose. Much better than what we’ve seen in recent years. And let’s not forget that Kiffin didn’t start assembling his roster until last January. And Leavitt has been out for about two years almost.

Why are we acting like we didn't know this when we hired him?

I'm pretty sure we knew what we were getting. Now if we were 9-0, would this thread be around?
