I've never understood the Wildcat play call. All it does is telegraph to the defense that you're running the ball. Don't think I've ever seen a Wildcat play where there's a pass.

Absolutely moronic.

Well ideally the wildcat gives you an extra blocker… the way Weiss and Kiffin run it with the qb in the backfield is dumb.

sure, but telegraphs the run, so the D can bring their safeties up and stack the box.

An extra blocker won't help with that.

We've actually had some very creative plays off of the wildcat that succeeded bigly, BECAUSE it allowed defenses to do what you said. So it's got a purpose for sure

Used to work pretty well back in 2000's. Ask anyone that's around 40 or close to it...

Prob doesn't help that our center and both guards were getting their asses whipped almost every snap.

Right up the middle where our two guards get no push at all.

Well where was the check to a creative play call when the whole defense crowded the box on 3rd and 1? Throw it over their heads.

Arkansas. Darren McFadden and Felix Jones.
Ron Brown took wildcat snaps for the Dolphins, he would pass it sometimes. Patriots didn’t have an answer.
