I really don’t get the Baker hate

I really don’t get the hate from this game. Yes, last 2 seasons our defenses have struggled with running QBs. That is not why we lost this game.
In the past people have complained about Baker sending too many blitzes and getting beat by running QBs. This game your complaint is that he “played prevent” and got beat by a running QB again. I think you all are just looking for a scapegoat when the reality is you just got beat by a really good QB.
Trinidad had 2 yards rushing this game. His mobility hurt us by extending plays and then him being capable of throwing dimes on the run. That’s why he’s probably going to win the Heisman. Every defense in the country is going to struggle with that. Ole Miss o line also performed better than I expected.
First half offensive struggles led to defense being on the field too long. Second half offense started playing better complimentary ball and defense held strong until the end.
The melt down after this game is unwarranted IMO. This is not the BCS era where a loss means the season is over. You lost a top 10 emotional matchup on the road. Move on and beat A&M next week. All your preseason goals are still in front of you. The fight shown in the second half was positive.

I get it. He can’t stop a QB who can run. And tonight he committed so hard to stopping the QB run that he forgot the QB can still throw it too and inevitably lost on a QB run still lmao. He’s not an elite DC

Baked coached a hell of a game against a twelfth year senior who shouldn’t be in college with 0 rest for his players the entire first half. They still made adjustments and showed up when it mattered.
Thats what wins games. Showing up when it matters in critical moments.

The D scheme in the first half was awful. We gave up the most passing yards Chambliss has ever had at ole miss. The D series at the end of the first half was incompetent.

It took him until half to make good adjustments. Just like it seems that it takes Charlie until half to make good adjustments.
The idiot Baker had 5 or 6 spies on Chambliss, while the WR's ran wide open. Chambliss would just scramble a little than throw to the wide open receiver.
Either blitz and play man or rush 4 and drop 6 with one damn spy.

You know you can man up on the corners with safety help over the top, right?
Either way, at least in man we're in phase with the receivers and not standing around reacting 2 seconds too late to make a play.

He won the game on a 14 yard run. His mobility beat LSU when the game was on the line. Hopefully the defense will get better at stopping a mobile qb, but I’m skeptical.

Im with you. Defenders had some wtf moments in the 1st half.

First half gameplay was complete dog shite. No pressure on Chambliss and played soft zone allowing easy throws for Chambliss.
