BUT.

This LSU team showed grit tonight. The first half was bad. Being down 24-7 at halftime in that environment. Then coming back and tie ball game and take it to the last minute of the game?

Imagine how embarrassing it would've been had they given up and got smoked 44-7. How easy it would've been for them to give up.

I've had them at 10-2 with losses to Ole Miss and Texas since before the season. I still think this is doable. The team needs work. But they got fight.

Downvote away

Leaving September 3-1 is really good for Lane’s first year

Agree. Showed some heart for a bunch of semi-pro guys. Good sign for later this year. They have a want to win. LSU should get better because of this game assuming they didn’t lose green for a long time.

Nah this loss sucks but it’s just 1 game. Getting out of September 3-1 was the goal before the season. Thats still doable

Win next week they can go on a run. Although i am guessing green is done for the year, that will be tough.

That's fair. I've been saying this game would be tough on Kiffin for 9 months. The rant refused to admit it
My concern is that there seems to be no progress at QB

He's still basically half way through his second season. He's battled injuries and still has a ton to work on but you want to start seeing some improvements. Especially with footwork.

We fired Kelly because he couldn’t get a team amped at halftime. This bunch came out on fire in a hostile environment. I still think we can make some noise this year.

Sam deserves criticism for his play. But he took care of the ball all game, which was an improvement. Up until the last freakin play anyway.
I think he will continue to get better as the season goes along, but may always have some flaws. We’ll see.

Easy to take care of the ball when you refuse to throw it. The film review will not be kind to all the open receivers he missed tonight

Careful. Having a level head and perspective around here could get you in trouble.

He had some misses that hurt. He made a great throw for a huge TD and made some key plays with his legs. Definitely has things to work on but I could see him being alot better late in the season.
