This thread is funny.

Nuss was terrible, it's not the playcalling...upvote
Nuss was banged up, Sloan called terrible plays... upvote

Make up your mind, people. Was it one or the other?

No. Sloan has been terrible. But he was good tonight. 28/33 run/pass. Creativity in calling. 6ypc on 28 carries for 168 is what we’ve been needing. It was a good night for Sloan.

The offensive personnel had issues. JJ fumbled. Nuss’ ints were terrible. High on one and telegraphed his predetermined throw. But he threw 60% and had a handful of bad Hilton drops. The offense moved the ball well but couldn’t finish due to stupid mistakes. Sloan called a good game.

Do you know how difficult it is to be behind someone that is running full effort ahead, wrap your arms around their waist from behind, and not only stop their forward movement, but pick them up and throw them back?

This is the first time you have ever seen that?

On the last drive, the point wasn't to score a TD. It was to use as much time as possible and to go up 2 scores with less than 2 minutes left while making SC use their TO's.

That's why we ran the ball from the 3 yd line on 3rd and goal. If you get in, great. If you don't, they use their 2nd TO and then you go up 2 scores with a FG.

Ok expert. Nuss FUMBLES the fricking ball on his sneak. Fortunately he fell right on it.
In no way is it a bad decision to throw to a 6’7 TE. FFS if you’re trying to make them burn timeout just kneel.

He is a below average QB. If MVB cannot see some playing time, how bad is he? Just WTF is BK doing? Is it out of the question to have good backup QB?

Yeah - it was a totally solid call to have your QB who has been hurt all year, then had a ankle injury last night try to push 900 lbs of linemen into the end zone instead of throwing a fade to the 6’7” TE who was dominating the USCe DBs.

LSU has been awful at short yardage running around the goal line for a long time. Not just this year. Play calling inside the 5 yard line has zero creativity.

Give Nuss a break. Do you know how many times the ambulance had to take him off the field? Dude was limping around like he was learning to walk with a prosthetic leg.

The primary objective was the make it a 2 score game. Secondary objective was to make USCe have to burn some timeouts. Running the ball was the right call. We were already in position to secure the game by going up 10.

Totally agree.

But again, disguise it a little. Spread the defense. Put in Green. Just because running is the right thing to do doesn't mean bunch everyone up and make it 100% obvious you're doing it. Nor does it mean using an injured QB for a sneak is a good idea.
