#11 ND v. #1 Miami
ROOT FOR MIAMI
quote:

Notre Dame is the bigger current at-large threat, so a loss by Notre Dame is more valuable to LSU. However, Miami would improve its own at-large case with a win, but knocking back Notre Dame matters more to LSU. A separate schedule factor also helps: A stronger Miami can help the schedule value around Clemson, which also appears on LSU's schedule.

CFP impact if Miami wins: +2.1%

#13 Tennessee v. #6 Kentucky
ROOT FOR TENNESSEE
quote:

LSU still has Tennessee on its schedule, so Tennessee continuing to win would make that matchup more valuable. However, Tennessee would also improve its own at-large case, which offsets part of that benefit to LSU. The title-game picture also matters: Kentucky currently has a better chance than Tennessee to reach the SEC title game, so a loss by Kentucky removes more competition from LSU's conference-title path. LSU already lost to Kentucky, so Kentucky continuing to win would make that loss look better too.

CFP impact if Tennessee wins: +1.2%

Minnesota v. #8 UCLA
ROOT FOR MINNESOTA
quote:

LSU benefits most from UCLA, a major at-large threat, taking the loss. A separate factor: Minnesota already lost to Mississippi State, so a Minnesota win would make Mississippi State's earlier win more valuable to LSU.

CFP impact if Minnesota wins: +2.7%

#23 Oregon v. #12 Ohio State
ROOT FOR OREGON
quote:

The main value for LSU is knocking back Ohio State, currently a major at-large threat in the at-large race. Ohio State connects to LSU's schedule through Texas, so a stronger Ohio State can add some value to LSU's schedule too. If it happens, this is tied for the most helpful result of the day for LSU.

CFP impact if Oregon wins: +3.0%

#3 Utah v. #9 BYU
ROOT FOR UTAH
quote:

BYU is the smaller at-large threat today, but a win would raise its at-large chances from 35.8% to 52.8%. Utah would remain a major threat even with a loss (27.7%), so keeping BYU down leaves less combined at-large competition for LSU. However, Utah would also improve its own at-large case, which offsets part of that benefit to LSU. A separate schedule factor also helps: Utah plays Arkansas, and LSU plays Arkansas. A stronger Utah can make Arkansas's schedule look better, increasing the value of LSU's game with Arkansas.

CFP impact if Utah wins: +0.0%
CFP impact if BYU wins: -0.5%

#10 Ole Miss v. #2 Georgia
ROOT FOR GEORGIA

Either result technically improves our chances of making the playoff but Ole Miss losing gives us additional scenarios to make the SECCG and we’d jump Ole Miss in the CFP poll this week with Georgia win. Of note though if LSU and Ole Miss won out then they’d meet each other again in the SECCG if Kentucky loses 2/3 against Tenn, UF, Mizzou

#7 Texas v. #18 Mizzou
ROOT FOR TEXAS

Either result in this one technically improves our chances of making the playoff too, but I’m rooting for Texas since we’d control our destiny against them next week and would likely get College Gameday on campus next week.

I appreciated these when I was younger.

The older I get, the more I just want to see good football and the best overall team win.

It's a lot more fun, IMO, to watch a game with no rooting interest.

There’s a lot of football left to play no matter what. Bottom line is if LSU wins out a playoff bye is on the table.

Making it into and winning the SECCG increases those chances of getting a bye dramatically though.

Just give me the madness and a win for LSU! Been a really fun season of chaos and upsets.

Every time I start thinking about who needs to win or lose to help us, we lose. The most important thing is for the Tigers to take care of business and keep winning.

I feel like just about every season we’re in the same predicament where we lose a couple games, go into the Bama bye getting our hopes up with the additional time off of playing for a title with all the scenarios being thrown out, then lose to Bama and the whole season’s shot

First time in nearly 20 years though were favored against Bama, the Tide turns today!

Regarding UK at TEN...

I feel like I'd rather play a Vols squad with nothing left to play for?
So gimme Kentucky

That’s helpful but the best part is at this stage we don’t need any additional help. Just win out.
