You need money to win…
You need a commitment of money
You need a coach who can lead
You need a coach who can manage team needs,
Kiffin fits those boxes.

You're not getting it. If your program does not present stability.....and LSU does not currently, it does not matter who the coach is. Day is winning with a lot of his players. Same with Smart.
And
Yes, you need that core of RS juniors and seniors that have been with the program. Hired guns are nice, but they are hired guns

I think so, because he did a lot with a team that lost a lot of good players from the previous season and was not picked to have anything near the record they compiled in the regular season.
I also believe the LSU job should be able to attract a good coach even if Kiffin decides to remain at Ole Miss.

He’s a good coach but I don’t think worth the highest paid coach in the country kind of money. He caught lightning in a bottle this year. I think we can get the equivalent of a Kiffin for much less, his personality would fit in great around here tho and it would be entertaining.

Issue I have with him is that he couldn’t win with the team he had last year. They were loaded and he found a way to choke it away.

you don't get him, who do you get? What's your plan? And how do you see us performing with whoever you're suggesting?
That was used to justify BK the whole time he was here.
Hell, I said it myself.
That doesn’t excuse the fact that …. We’re not hearing strong answers to OP’s question.
Do we think Kiffin is worth it? If so, why? Make it make sense.
I want Kiffin, but I can’t make a strong argument for him being the best coach in CFB. He’s gonna win titles at LSU? Sure about that?

No, but there are no other available coaches that can basically guarantee a school that at least 1 side of the ball will be good.

So you're looking at 2030 realistically for any real playoff run.
lol. this is a crazy ignorant take

Not to me, my last year of season tickets after 30, CFB is a business now not a game. Yeah, I’m older

No one is arguing he is, but he probably is the best coach available.
In business, you interview and look for the candidate who is best for you. There is no timeline, 3 weeks, 3 months or a year, you interview until you find the right candidate.
In college football there is a timeline and a finite number of candidates. You target a candidate and go get them. He very well may stay at Ole Miss and LSU may need to go to 2nd, 3rd, or even up to 6th choice who isn’t the best fit, but you have weeks, maybe a month to get it done.
Most of the people who don’t want Kiffin haven't put a name forward they think will come to LSU. I’d like to see those names.

If LSU is making him the highest paid coach in CFB, I think that’s saying pretty definitely that he’s the best coach in CFB.
That’s OP’s original question - is LK worth the money we’re hearing he’ll be paid by LSU? The most of any coach in CFB.
Tell us why he is - because he’s available right now?
Why shouldn’t we just hire Sumrall? For less money?

No, Kiffin is a master marketer who has re-branded himself as some infallible coach. He rarely wins against a team equal or better than him. Ole Miss' schedule is trash this year. Perfect scenario for him to cash in whether he stays or goes.
This is what stupid looks like.
