If he goes for it and gets it, he is a hero.
If he goes for it and doesn’t get
It , it was the stupidest thing ever because the ball was on Kentucky's side of the field.

He relied on the defense and the defense choked

Very easy in hindsight to say go for it and the win, knowing what came next.

He probably figured his defense was better than that..evidently more confidence in his defense than his offense or “offensive “ line…

It was also very easy to say go for it live.

That UK would score was obvious, just as it was obvious the game was over when they sent it to OT.

If you go for it you at least have a chance to win the game. Depending on Baker to win that game gave you no chance.

If you go for it and don't make it you're relying on the defense.

If you punt you're relying on the defense.

If you make it you have a 99.999999% chance of winning.

there’s a chance we even frick up victory formation?

Game was over if went for it. We win. All night both teams took chances and the biggest moment of the night Kiffin pussed out. Kentucky went for it from 1 to end half and got +7. The went for it from the 3 at the end of OT on 2pt conv. and got it. Lane said in postgame PC if he was in their situation in OT he would’ve went for win too from the 3 yard line. So explain how that makes sense all or nothing to want to go for it from 3 yards away on an extremely short field at the goal line but shy away from going for the win with 1 yard to go?

We’ve lost 8 straight road games in conference. That was hostile environment last night. You had a chance to end the game and get out there with a win on a play that you had about an 80% chance of success on and instead you gave the ball away. Makes no sense why Kiffin went against his MO in that predicament. Game would’ve been over right there, annd even if he didn’t pick it up you still get to rely on defense to get you to OT which is exactly what ended up happening anyway.

You’re right. They could have stopped LSU, and sent the game into overtime with a field goal. Oh wait…Never mind.

thats absurd. They would’ve needed to go 30 yards for the win. I thought you trust the defense enough to hold them from going down the field and scoring?

He went against his own nature on that 4th & 1 and got burned. I don't think we see that again.

Stop, Just fricking stop.

Let me use a tired coach clicheto get my point across.

"You play to win the game"

Kiffin played to not lose. This literally reminded me of Kelly vs FSU in his first game when wr go all the way down there final drive and we go for an extra point instead of a 2 at conversion.

I wanted them to go for it live and we live with the consequences. P000ppp

Well the Kentucky coach made a similar hard decision - to go for 2 ! Kiffin made the wrong decision there and I said so in real time - not hindsight !

It's theoretically possible, extremely unlikely.

I don't get why coaches give the ball back. Even with no timeouts there was plenty of time to move down the field. Two minute offenses routinely succeed.

We all knew UK was getting into FG range either way.
