Palmer at Nebraska, Trey Quinn, Eli Ricks. It seems to have worked out for lots of guys. It will probably work out great for Heard, too.

All he is worried about is playing LT for 2 more years and hopefully be a high draft choice

If Campbell or Jones get hurt for any extended period of time then we'll wish like hell Heard was still on the team.

Do you follow recruiting, have you seen what Coach Davis and Kelly have brought in? Coach Kelly has done this with the OL at every stop he’s made. OL is our strongest position, within this roster.

He showed his entitled character when he signed and said, “I will be playing left tackle, I’ve seen Campbell played as a teammate”, implying that he’s better than Campbell and that left tackle position was his when he signed. When he couldn’t unseat Campbell, he bolted. He’s going to get his NIL money wherever he goes, it’s the entitlement that driven him away.

This is much ado about nothing. Tennessee(the state) purposely made laws to circumvent NCAA rules(laws supercede organizational rules) and just upon hearing this essentially told the NCAA to frick off. This isn't a battle the NCAA can win. They can't put every school on punishment. We all break rules with NIL. Comes off as trying to save face for having no forethought with how NIL would be taken advantage of. I can't wait for them to be relegated to a nonfactor for football programs

I don't know the kid, but always felt like this got overblown. Sounded like a young stud showing his competitiveness.

I get the negative feelings towards him, but would be thrilled if he came back. That would mean Kelly and Davis wanted him back.

He took the money. It ain't a crime. Y'all act like you wouldn't switch jobs for more money. Lol. Too many old cliches used around here. Sounds like he woke up every morning with his momma saying wake up my little million dollar baby, so there's that, too.

A post season bowl ban would be the only thing that would really affect him personally.

Would it? Tennessee probably isn’t making the playoffs the next 3 years and Heard will definitely sit out a bowl game heading into the draft.

Doubt this will affect him at all unless it costs him some NIL money

You don’t think he’s going to get his NIL money here at LSU had he stayed? I believed when he didn’t win out the left tackle spot, his pride was hurt and that was the culprit.

I’ll tell folks a little story. A former LSU Player was on a Pro team. He played a position for a long time. He told the team higher ups, they could draft someone to take his place, but that guy would be sitting the bench. No one was taking his spot. That’s because, no one was better than him. That player, Andrew Whitworth!

Big Whit has done it for years. Every player thinks he’s better than the starter. Few are.

More than 90% of the folks that transfer from LSU, make a mistake. Some start at other schools, some backup, some, never play college ball again. The numbers that do well, very few. A small percentage. I often check on players after transfer.

He didn't want to be a Tiger. He didn't want to rep his home state. It was always the dollar above all . I think we want players who want to play here.

Maybe unpopular but he left after 1 year. He wasn't some legend. He is going to be good for UT Knoxville.

Yet, he ain't starting over Jones and Campbell. So it's better if he sits ANOTHER year, then play.

C'mon, get the frick outta here..it was a smart choice on his part.
