Get him in and start him working with Blake and take a red shirt year if necessary. We need to continue building quality depth at LB.

If he doesn't play anymore games, then yes

I guess its all about perspective. Can't see it as a bad thing to come in and being in the S&C program for a year. He will definitely learn and grow more at LSU than high school. I'm sure he would obviously RS next year

If he redshirts like Hurley then reclassifying is a non factor

Its not a non factor, he loses a year of eligibility. If he stays in HS, and comes when he is supposed to, he still has the option to red shirt if he's not ready. If he starts as a redshirt feshman then you are correct. With Reclassifying, he better be ready by what should have been his true freshman year or he lost a year no matter how you try to spin it.

He hasn't used his redshirt yet, if he doesn't play at OU he will redshirt and come back

I love that for us but am I the only one that dislikes players reclassifying? To me it just loses a year of development for them and except in rare cases it detrimental to the athlete.

Normally I would agree but his being 6'3" and 215 makes me wonder if he might be a borderline kid, age-wise. If that is the case, getting here one year earlier can help them to accelerate their development in techniques as well as strength and conditioning.

Had the opportunity to meet him and Brett Bordelon on the sideline before the game. They took to the time to speak with my grandson and his friend and take a picture. Both seem to be solid young men. Can't wait to see them in Purple and Gold!!

247 has him now the 29th LB in the 2025 class, 1 spot behind Moses.

OU would only be West’s 4th game, so he should be good to come back even if he plays.

We were kicking this around on tScoreboard the other night, and it was said that bowl games don’t count against games played for redshirts anymore. So he could play in the bowl too if accurate

reclassifying really only hurst QBs. Hell, Deshuan Watson didn't have a senior season because of injury and he still balled out as a true freshman.

Not too excited that he's reclassified. I'm also for kids getting that 4th year of HS to grow physically, develop, and to just enjoy the high school experience of being a senior. These are memories you will never get back. Why rush your life when you don't have to?
A lot of kids with pro sports potential don't give a damn about senior years. High school isn't some sunshine and rainbows for everybody either. The amount of people who are early enrolles nowadays attest to that.
