Apparently Xavier Atkins is locked in with LSU. According to Sonny, Originally Matt House had an issue with Atkins blowing off the bayou Splash and going to the Aggie event and they agreed to part ways. but they’ve spoken recently and he’s expected to visit for the Arkansas game.

Strange turn. 247 had actually removed him from our list of commits a few weeks ago and now lists him as having committed today.

Keys and Atkins are definitely going to play linebacker. I think Singleton will too. Cobbins is more of an EDGE. We might have enough for now, given we need spots to take more linemen.

Kinda. The kid seemed to really like LSU, but liked the attention more. Started visiting other schools and publicly saying his recruitment was still open. LSU said that isn’t how this works. He’s probably realizing he still wants to be at LSU.

I know no one likes Rivals, but they really think highly of Atkins. They rank him as the #6 LB and #79 overall recruit.

Since that is similar to Maurice Williams’s situation, can we re-open his recruitment?
Not verbatim-similar, but oranges-to-tangerines similar.
Or did I miss that we lost interest in him due to performance? Or did he mess around too much with visits and Kelly got pissed?
