Would you welcome Mathews back even though he gave LSU a massive middle finger?

Yes. We’re losing Brooks and Sam after the season. I’m not sure about Burns, but Jacoby Matthews should be welcome.

A&M offered too much money for his parents to say no. Wasn't necessarily his choice.

I think Steve Miller said it best…”Go on, take the money and run!”

Hurt feelings shouldn't get in the way of adding talent. I haven't followed Mathews to see how well he's doing, but if he's a legit player then yes, take him.

Do people even realize he is the 3rd best safety at A&M that lsu wanted lol

Jardin Gilbert & Bryce Anderson are both better

He may be the only one I would. The story back then was that he just couldn't say no to the money. He was in tears when he told LSU he wasn't coming. I don't know how true that is, but that was the rumor back then.

He’d be nice to have but I’d hope he isn’t expected to be the savior. As Steve Smith would say, he’s JAG (Just a Guy) but would certainly upgrade the talent level in the secondary.

I’d imagine he isn’t going to just leave AnM without having his NIL money at a minimum matched by LSU, and I’d think LSU wouldn’t be interested in doing that with the safety commits we have plus the fact that he’s probably another one and done type player given his classification.

I’d take him though

If he issued a formal apology to the Recruiting Board with specific bullet points on why he chose to hurt our delicate feels, and why that was a terrible mistake, I’d consider it. No promises, though.

Hell Yes, that was heartbreaking to me, he was all but a Tiger until the Bag grew & grew.
I was on vacation and that ruined my day. I know I know how does a 18yr old kid ruin my day?
By Choosing Money Over Heart, that was the first sign of this NIL shite making a difference in recruiting. He was a homegrown kid, loved LSU, and the #2 safety in the country.
I may be Wrong but didn’t Jordan A seal the deal. He’s a Take!!!!!!

How do you know who got the money? And I don’t see why playing for LSU was better for the kid.

Should Jayden Daniels have played for his home state school instead of LSU? Mason Taylor? Harold Perkins?

I’ve got Harris and chestnut gone.

But I will say that McBride and Joel Rogers are good pickups and needed.
