Why does he think Clemson waited so long?
Clemson offered when one of their RB recruits de-committed.
Simply nuts to go to Clemson, S.C. rather than play at LSU.
Clemson doesn't have a track record comparable to LSU of putting RB's in the league.
But, I'm sure the kids been dazzled. Long term bad decision for him.

LSU did not full press Etienne until Akers signed with Florida State and the staff wanted Akers for good reason

Sure, for low information people it is.
I meant for him, man.
Living in LA he doesn't have hear daily about who Clemson is targeting and what their pecking order is. When you're so close to BR you're constantly hearing all in Cam Akers, or whoever, and you know you're plan B (not saying there's anything wrong with LSU going after their top guy or Etienne being the second option). Same deal is probably playing out at Clemson but he's removed from the situation up there so the exact same scenario from over there doesn't seem as "bad" or whatever as the scenario here.

#1 QB committed 2 years in a row.
Who? Looking at their QBs since Deshaun signed they've signed one top 20 nationally QB and that's Hunter Johnson in the '17 class.

What a week. We go from thinking everybody is jumping on board to possibly not getting the best rb in the state. However, Clyde is a fine back and will fit perfectly into Canada's offensive system. Hopefully the word out in Jennings is wrong, and we get a great back tonight.

Got a really really really credible source leak last night, that said he is for sure 100% Clemson

Yeah Hunter Johnson and the #1 kid next year, Trevor Lawrence, who is also the #1 overall player and a freak of nature.
I see Hunter is now #2 on composite position rankings, my bad. He was #1, but he's still a 5*.

it feels a lot different when the school 75 miles east of your home doesn't offer until a few hours before their highly coveted horse commits to FSU.
While you can count me among those who think we should have offered TE earlier, he needs to grow the frick up. This is how recruiting works. The only school that didn't make him a backup plan was A&M, and it looks like he ditched them.
He may not like reality, but that doesn't mke it any less real.

Sounds like he got his feelings hurt. What he doesn't realize is that he isn't Clemson's first choice at running back either.

Lsu waited too long by zed44
If this is the case then good bye. Clemson waited longer and had a rb flip on them before they offered. Totally emotional/irrational decision.
LSU is up front with these kids. They tell them to be patient an offer may break late. They don't stop recruiting them. (duke riley, Russell Gage, Foster Moreau, Amik Robertson) to name a few.
LSU will get some good rb's next year. they have one in this class, brossett has two years. However, T.E. will not get another opportunity to be a LSU tiger. The above players are enjoying their late offer and having success at LSU. T.E. will never know what that feels like. It will be his loss.

Miles fricked up this recruitment early on and O didn't offer until Akers was gone. Pretty easy to recruit against LSU here.

Exactly, for everyone getting their feelings hurt about late offers this kid needs to go ask Duke how his late offer worked out.

This. Duke was offered 6 days before NSD. He jumped on his offer and never looked back

I'm betting that we see a shift in philosophy starting next year. The staff will cast a wider net, accept commits as they come, and then process and ask for greyshirts late. I don't like it, but it's what the primary competition is doing, and it protects us from issues like this one.

Jennings is a hotbed of gossip, I don't know where he is going or guessing, but don't assume cause a lot of folks are saying it that it must be true
