Will Campbell thoughts on hire

Heard back from highly touted offensive lineman Will Campbell on Brian Kelly hire: “Glad they hired someone I don’t rlly know coach Kelly tho but he knows how to win. Just hope he keeps Brad Davis.”

I think making Davis the interim HC for the bowl game was intentional by Woodward to encourage the incoming HC to consider keeping him on staff.
Either way I doubt it's a deal breaker. Campbell and Howard are close and Howard loves the hire. Kelly also has traditionally good OL so he should easily sell Campbell on whoever he hires.

I have no idea who he is but considering the OL ND has put into the NFL over the last decade, Campbell should probably want ND’s OL coach to come with Kelly.

Early rumor on the ccb is Kelly's o line coach is coming with him.
TBH, reading Will's response it doesn't seem like he's too happy about the hire. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

What you can do is split up the offensive line and tight ends and have Quinn coach, say, the centers and guards and Davis perhaps the tackles and tight ends.
It would be interesting to see how that might work in terms of player development to have two coaches working on the line rather than one.

No, its the insufferable fricking segment of our fan base who sit in their basement and think they can psychoanalyze the comments of 17 year old recruits and always, I MEAN ALWAYS, make a negative interpretation.

I have a friend who is a coach at Neville, I asked him about Will and how solid he is to LSU and he told me there is zero chance he doesnt sign with LSU, he said the kid has been all LSU since the day he was born

If the details surrounding his salary are correct, that would make me think we're not paying a lot of buyout money to get rid of many assistants.

He likes Brad Davis. That doesn’t mean he is attached at the hip to him.
The Notre Dame OL coach has some serious skins on the wall. I bet Campbell will also like the idea of being coached by him.

Davis hasn’t proved shite. Kelly should bring his Oline coach. Campbell didn’t get to know Davis until late this summer when he was hired anyway

Fair enough. Some are saying that it is very negative I just think it's not the best reaction he could've had. It wasn't horrible but he is unfamiliar with the hire so.

These are 17 year old kids - who cares what they say? But if he goes elsewhere, LSU will recruit the next guy.
