This is just fricking stupid. If he was leveraging us he wouldn’t have been committed since January. Also, if he was leveraging money he would have committed to Oregon or Texas because the number to outbid would have been higher.

So it only matters what you believe. Got it. I think saying he never had any intentions of coming to lsu is a coping mechanisms by lsu fan and I get it, if that helps you sleep at night then no harm in it.

You think that got all that NIL and collaboration set up in 24 hours? He played LSU for $$ and got it, 2 fold.

It got set up over the last couple of months. But make no mistake- Michigan went back and made this big push because of how shitty they are this season. Moore knew he would be in trouble if he didn’t make a big splash, and Portnoy’s stunt got the ball rolling for him.

If Michigan was in the playoff hunt right now. I’m not sure this works out the same way. Michigan and Moore were desperate and made a desperate offer.

Yeah…. That’s what it is….

How this played out wasn’t “obvious” at all….

Wrong. Our last two QBs were heisman winners. We were being “considered” to be the new “QBU”. “Of course” the “number one QB” just has to “go to that school”. It made it more “believable” that he legitimately “wanted” to go to that school.

Yeah, lets get into a bidding war with the 2nd richest person on the planet. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

Do yourself.a favor and look up the name Larry Ellison, bc you are obviously ill-informed

At some point, it’s just not worth it.
This is the correct answer. Pay that much once and you will pay more each time you want to sign a qb.

If this was really just a ploy to get the bag from Michigan why not choose another school to get the number as high as possible. It’s known lsu isn’t a top spender in the NIL game. Why not pretend to want to go to Oregon or Ohio state and get a 10 million dollar bag to make Michigan go to 20?

Maybe LSU and UM were like 1a and 1b on his wishlist. If UM ends up paying like they did he gets a big bag, if they decide not to pursue he gets to play at a school he likes - for just a smaller bag.

Doesn’t matter if he knows how or not, taking the money now is a much better approach.

I say take the money you were going to give Bryce and give it to flip DK Moore back. He’s already made it pretty obvious he’s going to go to the highest bidder.

Once word got out that UM was going to play 3 mil a year it was over and. As I LSU fan I am okay with it.

Not ONE LSU fan should be ok with paying a kid that’s never played a down of football on a college field that much money.

Stopped reading your post right here. One of the stupidest proposals I’ve seen on here, and there have been a lot them.

Yeah get in a bidding war with the a school who has the 2nd richest man in the world backing them. Definitely could outbid a man with $231billion

if Ellison's wife left him tomorrow for another OT baller, his connection to the University of Michigan would be gone along with his funds

Kelly should have also offered his wife to Underwood.

Your idea is ridiculous.

Does Kelly even control the NIL? Isn’t NIL controlled by a separate department supporting Athletics - including boosters? While I’m sure Kelly has significant influence, I can’t believe Kelly has a blank check and that these type of decisions aren’t controlled by the University.
