try posting on the saints board, if you dont say that every saints player is the greatest to ever play their position then youre a troll a-hole.

no bigger homer board that the saints talk

Nah, not really. I only post from work.

I rarely post from home.

How are they supposed to know? They are new and the search function blows. Most people don't check the board every day

All we want is to be loved!!!

Nahhhh, but something things could be improved on the search function. Hardly works half the time for me. Now, granted, I might be using it wrong but still. How are we supposed to know? Could somebody make it easier? Or maybe a how-to?

Easiest route to go to search is just go to google and type in whatever you're looking for "+tigerdroppings". You'll find threads back to 07

Now that I know that, thanks. But the thing is, we don't know that initially. Then we end up getting bitched at.
If we made some guidelines, like Chicken did with the SECRB, and you put that in there, BOOM, problem solved.

My opinion is that trolling is the first and primary reason. Trolling comes in two forms: 1) fans from other schools or people who have a specific reason to come stir things up or dilute the quality of the board (which is usually quite good once you sift past the crap), and 2) ignorant know-it-alls who don't know they are trolls. This type sees the world as black & white and only from the perspective that their tiny mind is capable of producing, yet thinks they are experts... this can manifest in idiots "knowing" what school or position is best for a kid more than the kid or other coaches; knowing that an underrated kid will be a star or a highly rated kid will be a dud on the next level; or that throw out blanket statements like this school is great or sucks because of one factor, etc.

It's natural to go after the trolls, and somewhat necessary. I don't post here often, but even I've gone after a couple of trolls. The problem is it conditions people to become intolerant of otherwise not so obnoxious newcomers who just ask something dumb. It's not ideal to slap newcomers around, but this board is what it is and if someone is going to participate they should learn to participate the right way. Maybe harshing down on them is not diplomatic, but unless the new poster is dense, harsh feedback is at least constructive and if they improve, the negative responses usually stop. It's rare to see people with good questions or info get any flack... as long as they can back up what they say, or it's a reasonable question... unless it's just a troll who gives the feedback.

I find it important to realize that I will most likely never come up with anything interesting to say/ask that has not already been discussed by the regulars...so I search and lurk. Been doing it for years and have never had a lack of information to go through! If a newby just pops in with a random question without ever spending time on the board...he/she deserves the backlash. I for one enjoy reading the banter that follows, quite funny at times.

Solid plan. I think there was an invasion of the rant some years back, and the rudeness was an attempt to curb it. It didn't work, and the board hasn't been the same since.

It's like a hazing initiation, once they pass, they're welcome to the RB.

I have been a member since 2003, and I am on this board at least 1-2 hours everyday, but I rarely post anything for this exact same reason. I actually think that most of the stupid questions and comments are from somebody that knows the answers, but is just looking for a reaction.

I have been saying this for years.

I think some of these people are insignificant and small. So they have this site to become bullies and let off some steam.

When I was new I stayed into people about thsi same thing. Thats why my post count is low after 5 yeras. i am here all day everyday but I dont say much becuase Losers will raise your blood pressure for stupidity. Andi know for a good fact they wouldnt do thsi in real life. not even at a game with liquor in there system. Becuase they are Keyboard jockeys and cowards.

The sad part that gets me is that its a tiger fan against a tiger fan. Not againt the barners or the Bammers.

To add to yoru point Dodd, why do so many give Dandy don and that site such a hard time. Site had no ill intentions and didnt cost a dime unless you wanted to pay. and people still treated him liek crap.

Amazing.......

Stepping off soapbox now.

I guess I'm going out on a limb here, but is there anything wrong with fans posting here who have a common affinity for the LSU Tigers, sharing mutual respect, if not reasonably warm collegiality?
Regardless of post counts or other such arbitrary indicia of (self) worth?
