Why is Benton not coming in til June?

for the same reason he cant get on campus since graduating highschool. i hate to talk bad about lsu recruits/players, but isnt it funny he'll be here "in june." i mean this kid has had tons of chances to get in and hasnt.

i have officially written him off in my mind and wont believe he'll be here "at the beginning of next semester" until his arse is in practice and living on campus. its sad-- he couldve gone to JUCO, and been at LSU now, but he was above that.

again, i dont want to talk so horribly about an LSU kid, but his extreme amount of talent has been wasted by a kid who cant use get into school. i mean why on earth would he be any closer now to qualifying now than when he got out of highschool? i wish him the best, but seems like a lost cause

he was a 2007 recruit. 07 and 08 seasons @ JUCO, could have transfered in right now. happy?

Speaking of Bastrop high school, I spoke to a school official Monday concerning the status of five-star wide receiver Deangelo Benton who signed with LSU out of high school in 2007 but was not academically eligible to enroll at LSU and has been trying to become eligible the last year. According to my source, who I will not name, Benton is very close to becoming eligible to enroll at LSU. In order to be cleared through the NCAA clearing house while attending a JUCO school you must graduate from that school first. Who thinks here that he would have graduated from a JUCO school anyway!!!

keiland had troubles, but something isnt rt. nothing against benton but something is wrong if this kid isnt here yet. either no one is helping him out or he is missing parts of his brain

So, the kid finally completes his required courses, basically takes 4 courses and passes them all. And now, since the clearinghouse can't approve it prior to the start of this semester, it's time to move on?

That makes total sense.
