Sophser would be a fool to go to Bama. He’d be stuck in 5 deep at Bama. Day 1 starter and State hero at LSU. No brainer.

Who was it that we moved to OT last year from defense?

We moved Dare Rosenthal to OT.

That's what we did and what we do...this is our solution.

At the same time, our main competition has the #5, #6, and #8 2019 OT prospects signed.

We have the #36 2019 OT prospect signed.

And he’s not even a tackle at this time. Definitely not LT.

Yeah, but he's been listed at 260lbs on 247 since back in the spring of 2018.

I asked yesterday, in another thread, if anyone has an updated weight on this guy. Hopefully somebody does. He's listed anywhere from 237-260 on the sites. I think he's probably bigger than 260 by now.

I really don't know. I hope we're hitting on our evals, especially for the positions where we need talent injections and depth...like OT.

LSU has had trouble hitting on stud OT's for many years in the row now. It's a problem for us.

As you mentioned, Mike Williams could be a transfer candidate as a defensive lineman, a position of need.

If he transfers, he would sit out 2019, but still count among the 85 player scholarship limit for a team each season, is that correct?

Parker OT

Ish an Rodney Sophsor DT
Lee SS
Pickens WR
Young DE
Ward CB
Williams CB

Hamilton CB

6 spots remain

My order of preference if all were available would be:
The Sosphers (1,2), Parker (3), Lee (4), Pickens (5), Young (6), Williams (7)

Hamilton just seems to risky if he is as good a baseball player as they say

Seems the guys we want are

Sosphers
Young
Lee
Sign Parker and Hampton.

Only real problem is that of the 4 uncommitted we may not be the first choice of any of them so that means we have to reset the board pertaining to next options.

OL
Not a ton of unsigned kids out there but 2 we should try to get traction with are
Doug Nester-seems inevitable he's not gonna stick with OSU. UGA seems to be trending.
Javonne Shepard-we were in a solid spot early on and it seems to be Texas or TAM but we should kick the tires.

DL
All those MS kids remain unsigned. Young, Pickering, Moore and Gordon. Probably the order we prefer them as well. Should get visits from 3 of the 4 at least. Couple of FL kids not reported as signing with FSU yesterday are still there as well.
LB
If we feel the need and I feel the pass rushing OLB is something we should take a look at if space is there. How we skipped over this spot after missing on Harris and not gaining traction with Isaac is puzzling to me. Take 1 every year. Brooks is not that guy. Too small.
David Uwoegbu from TX seems to be trending to Oklahoma or TAM but kick the tires.
Desmond Little from AL. We checked him out early.
CB
I think yesterday's signings of Flott and Jones may have wrapped the CB class but if not some candidates.
Jay Ward-raymomd loves him but I just think he lost his spot.
Akeem Dent-been wavering from FSU for months. Weird we haven't publicly chased him but maybe he told us privately he has no interest. Find out.
Travis Jay-another FSU kid. Great frame.
DJ James-AL kid that a few staffs, namely Bama talked into holding off signing with MS St. Kid really rising. May be a S long term.
S
Not sure who we project here but we need 1. Couple of FSU kids didn't sign. Nick Cross, from MD, likely to Maryland but why not try. Brendan Gant is the other. Ranked the #2 S on rivals and I know literally nothing about him.

Me personally, make sure we sign Parker, see how Hampton shakes out, take Lee, go hard for the Sopshers and go hard for any DL that we like enough to take. DL, DL, DL.

Thanks figured as much. Hampton sure makes things dicey if we start trending up with a few DL.

Dare Rosenthal (6 foot 7 327 lbs.) but don't forget about Cameron Wire (6 foot 6 280 lbs.). Both are OT projects.

I could've swore 2019 was the year for in-state talent. Next year again?

This year had more top end talent. Next year is deeper, especially on the defensive line. Also, Texas next year is super loaded. We already have a commit for one of the top OTs and are sitting good with several other big men.

The top ranked OT, Darnell Wright is still sitting out there. I know we were on him early. You never know- not that our staff isn’t way ahead of me. And that goes for every kid out there. I view it as free agency or a reset or open season.

We going to move higher when all is said and done? 4th is good, just sucks when you are also fourth highest in the conference

Parker is looking for better offers. He wants to play right end not tackle.

Pay the man...we need these types of line prospects to keep up with the teams in front of us.

LSU is the only major brand that can't seem to land top OT prospects...this needs to end ASAP.
