19 signed

2 still committed. (M. Hampton and R. Parker)

4 spots left

Assuming we add three with room for 1 Transfer. I could be wrong.

Who are the 4 we want?

Who are 2 or 3 we actually get?

I. Sopsher
R. Sopsher
D. Lee
J. Ward (Depending on what happens with Hampton)

Was listening to the radio yesterday and they said depending on how things shake out they might not take the full 25. They could save one or two spots to use for transfers or to use next year where the Louisiana 2020 class is extremely deep.

ETA: Forgot about Christian Williams who Pilot mentioned below. Sounds like they are working him hard to flip.

Want:
Ish
Young
Lee
Williams / Ward

Get:
Lee
Ward
Young (less than confident)
*Leave one spot for possible transfer

Sophser
Lee
Then any unmet needs.
Then any special talents.

I think most lists start with DL and specifically the unsigned Mississippi kids. Don’t forget Mike Williams is back in town and bulked up. Maybe another cb for depth because of Hampton.Another OL because of Parker.

Regardless, we aren’t scrambling desperately like we were last year. We just need to fill the depth spots like a normal well- managed team.

So 2 DL
Lee
A cb
An OL

That would be nice.

If K Fulton and Rashard Lawrence are going to the draft, then I agree, that’s who we are looking for.

However. We are low on Safeties. D. Lee is a take if he wants it.

1. and 2. Ish and Rodney
3.Lee
4.Young would be great. Probably not though.

Pickens and Williams could take that last spot if either flipped or if Ish is out.

I honestly feel Sospher is a lost cause and they should go after a different DT. They need another one big time with ED A leaving. Sospher is all bama.

1. Another DT somewhere and I don’t know who
2. D. Lee
3. Ward only if Hampton goes to MLB or Fulton declares for draft
4. Pickens if he can get grades right otherwise use on 2020 or grad transfer

If Ray Parker makes it. We will have 16 oline. Might be fine there. Never know if someone like savage may transfer out though.

We are not fine at OT...at all. Parker possibly not making it now is a big deal, and we need to be working right now to land a yuge OT prospect in this class.

Is Parker only a concern about grades? Or is he in play with other schools?

I’m fine with what we have for2019 and 2020 in Camron Jackson and Courtland Ford as OTs.

Focus on
CB

That's all I see here, man...I hope we both know that what we're getting isn't likely going to be enough.

O said on the radio yesterday that he wants to finish heavy on the DL. I bet we see Sopsher bros and then Young. If Hampton goes MLB, Ward gets in. Add Lee. If Pickens somehow gets eligible, he'll get added too. Will need major attrition

Sophser would be a fool to go to Bama. He’d be stuck in 5 deep at Bama. Day 1 starter and State hero at LSU. No brainer.

I hear you on that. But if Hampton and Fulton are not here, then we need to add

-two CB
-You don’t turn down sopsher, young/Pickering or devonta lee.

Also, re evaluate why we offered all of these small tight ends because that’s where a lot of our depth has gone. Then we added a Juco TE and I’m still not sold on that.

But that’s where we are.

If Charles, Rosenthal, traore and deculis can’t provide a good two deep then we are in trouble anyway. I’m not sure what able bodied OT are still on the board after yesterday.

I agree. Sounds like Parker wants to go somewhere they will let him play TE. Who was it that we moved to OT last year from defense? Can't remember the name but he's a big ol boy. Said he was very raw but maybe they are getting him up to speed.

I am personally assuming that Hampton is going MLB. I think Fulton returns. We'll see on both, I guess.

And, no, we won't turn down any of those 4...we shouldn't be turning down any legit DL right now.

I agree with the TE stuff. Some people on this board just claimed yesterday that Charles Turner will be a TE for us. That would be so stupid, if true...he's got decent OT potential, and we just took McClendon.

If the current guys we have on the roster at OT can't cut it, which is a real possibility, then we need more legit OT recruits. This game never stops, man...we need awesome OL and DL to beat the couple teams ahead of us.

I thought Parker was a grade issue situation, not a looking around situation.

I dont want to take a risk on Hamilton if he is seriously considering baseball.

I see Charles Turner is listed at 260. I was thinking they were putting him at TE while he bulks up; he'll need another 30 pounds at least before he could ever be an SEC center. Hopefully he can add weight better than Brennan.
