“I’m not going to name the other target who I hear has interest in LSU, but I will tell you that he’s an experienced DT who played on a staff member’s former team and will be graduating in May.”

Likely the same kid Shea has been hinting at. I'm sure some internet sleuth could figure it out if effort were really made. The way the things have been described it isn't some bum so that should help dwindle the list. But our insiders have been pumping a bit this year so who knows if we'll be satisfied with the quality of the player. Hard to get a good read when the messaging has been the true disappointment this cycle. At least from my perspective, which doesn't mean much.

Shea mentioned a grad student too but never said a name. Grad students can enter the portal whenever

OK Here Are the guys who might be able to be a grad transfer. The key word here is might be able to.

From Mizzou

https://mutigers.com/sports/football/roster/kristian-williams/17021

This guy, Johnny Walker, Jr., has 2 years of eligibility left. Been there long enough to potentially graduate this season.
https://mutigers.com/sports/football/roster/johnny-walker-jr-/17016

Edited to list guys from Texas instead of aTm

Alfred Collins was Listed as a DE guy out of HS but as DL at Texas
https://texassports.com/sports/football/roster/alfred-collins/12499

I doubt this is the guy, undersized with noone interested in him as a recruit
https://texassports.com/sports/football/roster/dorian-black/12955

Barryn Sorrell is a junior from NOLA (Holy Cross). Maybe he finishes his undergrad in 3 and transfers, not that far fetched, he was an academic all-state in HS and an academic all-Big12 at Texas. He is an Edge guy

I thought it would be Mizzou or Texas (Bo Davis), not A&M.

Good detective work on the Mizzou players but I believe the other school should have been Texas, not Texas A&M. To my knowledge, none of the LSU coaches have ever coached at A&M.

Vernon Broughton and Alfred Collins are both in year 4 of their academic years at Texas

I’ll choose to believe we’re getting Collins because he’s a stud and thats who I want

6’5 317, that’s a big body to replace Smith. Production was about the same which isn’t encouraging, but we need bodies with experience.

12 solo, 2 sacks, 5 QBH.

Compared to Masson Smith 6’6 315

9 solo, 2.5 sacks, 4QBH

Whatever happened with the Muhammad situation? Thought Shea (or whichever insider) hinted about him as a target?

Seems like a great replacement. I hope that’s who it is.

Overton already committed to Bama, right? Diggs is following Robinson to Syracuse.

Missouri had 2 graduates and 2 seniors in their top 4 DTs. Dandy can’t be referring to the graduates. It can’t be the other senior, Jayden Jernigan, because he just graduated, plus he was a backup, and he’s only 6’, 270. That leaves Kristian Williams, so I think Kristian Williams is the most likely candidate:

LINK

He has good size at 6’2” 314. He started most of the games for the last 2 years. He came out in 2019 as a 4 star, and played 3 years at Oregon. He only played 2 games as a freshman, so he used a redshirt in 2019. He played in 7 games in 2020 during Covid. Played all 14 games in 2021, and then transferred to Missouri for his last 2 years. Last year was his 5th year playing, as a redshirt senior, but he has 1 year of eligibility left. He has not declared for the draft, and he is one of the 10 Missouri players that they could lose that has not announced that he is returning. He has already transferred once, so he would have to graduate. He’s finishing his 5th year of school, so he should be graduating this May. He’ll be a 6th year rSR.

I would love either of the Texas starters, but both entered the draft, and the best backup, Trill, has committed to Auburn. I think Kristian would be an outstanding addition to the team. He would probably be a starter.
