Where are we getting this money

Can LSU structurally compete consistently in the age of NIL? Is a salary cap coming or is that bullshite. This WR getting fricking 1.3m before even playing a down is absurd. Who can even compete with that shite.

Football is being subsidized by baseball team.

Have you seen the check? If not I wouldn’t put much stock in that figure. JMO

This whole “LSU has no money” narrative blows my mind. Between the TAF/BT collaboration that just started, the revenue sharing that’s coming soon, the unnamed donors that ensure they’re not known (of which there’s many with money, not the “Todd Graves buying Jell-O shots on the CWS” type - though I do love Todd and his support for LSU), there’s plenty of money to go around.
Remember too that BK has a very methodical approach to everything he does, so NIL will be no different. Amongst other off field things he has to manage how much it takes to get HS recruits, bring in transfer portal kids, how much current players are paid and how ALL of that impacts the locker room + culture he’s trying to build.
So to succinctly answer your question, yes, we can compete structurally. Just because you don’t see it publicly, doesn’t mean everything needed to recruit, train and retain players isn’t happening.

Shut up. I hate it when people like you think that’s such a zinger. Way to address the question. It’s perfectly reasonable. Just hoping Oregon doesn’t set the market for everyone else. 1.3 million.

Just don’t see the few big money boosters we have being able to shell out $$ for unproven 17 year olds for much longer.

We been getting the elite of the elite for 25 -30 years what makes people think it wasn't going to continue?
We have players in the NFL collectively making over 1 billion in salaries last time it was published.
We are NFLSU.

This is fricking retarded.
We is anyone who cut a check for tuition, bought a ticket to anything LSU, donated a dollar, or even bought a shirt.

We’re getting it from the same place we always have, going back to the Saban days.

Why do you say this? The "big money" boosters have been doing it for over 100 years. One of the main reasons that LSU does not claim the 1908 championship is that Doc Fenton and gang were being paid to play for LSU.
Huey Long and his cronies provided well for the players during his era.
Do you really think that all of the talent that Stovall, Arnsparger, DiNardo, Saban, Miles, and Orgeron brought to LSU came at no cost?
Man up and stop being a pussy, they got this.

LSU has been a top tier cheating school long before NlL so I’m not sure why everyone assumed the status quo wasn’t going to continue. There are countless stories of LSU going against the usual programs by purchasing cars, cash, etc.
Really the only new school on the scene is Oregon and Phil Knight throwing everything at winning one and we still matched Lockett’s offer. At some point the nega tigers need to stop with the “we just can’t afford ____”
McMahon literally just got the 11th ranked class. Do people think that’s from his charisma and charm?
