January 17 is when the portal CLOSES FOR PLAYERS TO ENTER. Players can transfer a any time up until the fall. Think Joe Burrow. He transferred during the summer prior to the 2018 season. Just stop being pusses and wait to see what shakes out in the end.

You just have to ignore some of these. They will attack anything that smacks of negative vibes.

As to your question: I suppose it depends on how much you trust Kiffin and his staff, coupled with time left to sign from the portal, positions filled, and talent left in the portal.

I’m not worried at this time, but like most, I am antsy for the most pressing needs to start being filled. Once a QB, and a couple of OL sign, I guarantee that the board will calm down. Well, most of them.

1) I do trust Lane and Co.

2) Plenty of talent left in the portal and more to come from the teams left in the playoffs.

3) It’s early and this will go on for almost another month.

4) From what I’ve seen since the portal has been a thing in the NIL era, teams mostly know who is going to jump in before it happens. Tampering is happening across the board - hence the “do not contact.” I’m sure even LSU is doing it.

5). Some of those in the portal are testing the waters because they overestimate their own worth. That’s usually Freshmen who have never started or are buried on the depth chart.
I bet some of those will be back once they realize their mistake (if Lane wants them back)
