He claimed they were really good friends. He might have even said best friends.

Just because you think the coaches won’t take him back doesn’t mean he isn’t telling people on his end that he wants to.

No offense to him, but I’ve read his posts & they never come off as anything other than posturing

It’s pretty clear he left for mental health issues

You are correct. I didn’t want to bring it up, but since he went public with it, I guess it’s okay. He transferred because of that (among other things) and to be close to family so he could have support. He does regret it.

Yeah he wants to be a safety but couldn’t get on the field here at that position.

Shouldn't be that difficult under the present circumstances . . .

Some of you guys really take the cake. We are down 20-25 scholarship spots at the moment, depending on who is injured at any given time. If Brooks can be brought back without losing a spot in this year’s 25, then you do it. Period. We have no other mechanism to bring in players without impacting our recruiting numbers, so if you get a chance to add a talented guy without using one of those coveted slots, you do it.

No one is sure how the rules will shake out on this odd scenario because it isn’t specifically defined. If Brooks costs us one of our 25, then the staff should probably tell him to look elsewhere. But if the NCAA were to rule in our favor, we should let him come back to make up one more scholarship.

The key is it happening without taking a spot in the class of 25. If that is the case then there is no downside to taking him back

Brooks has a lot of upside if he's got his head/heart in the right place. Unless he's committed some unforgivable act I would take him back. That goes for Gilbert too. It's easy to forget that these are 18-19 year old kids. I did more than my fair share of stupid shite at that age.

Don't care which peg he is. He could get to the QB... when he was here for a very brief time.

Was his decision to leave LSU because he did not want to play MLB where the coaches wanted to move him?

So, we are short on players and this guy can rush the passer from outside. So, put him at OLB and we could possibly stop those runs out wide that we seem to let those RB get 15-20 yards down field until we touch them, and if they pass he can pin his ears back.

Did he transfer to TCU to play right away or be back home in Forth Worth, or both? If so, he is 3rd string on the depth chart at both MLB and RDE. Why is he not playing there and can only be 3rd string? Very confusing, or maybe his heart is not into football.

Taking him back is a coin toss, but we know there is talent there
