I don't follow recruiting too much but OU isn't ranked in the top 25 on CBSsports.com.

They had a small class due to not having too many schollies to give out. However most have their class ranked in the top 15. To not be ranked in the top 25 is ridiculous. They got some studs this year.

On rivals...their avg star rating is in the top 5 I believe. They were penalized for having a small class

Going by average star ranking on Rivals, they are no 3.

Originally typed 4, but it was a mistype.

Rivas has them #13, they have the 3rd highest avg stars.

A UT buddy of mine is really hacked at Mack for not taking Brandon Williams, he enrolled in the spring.

the services count the best 22 in a class.

if you have only 15 guys, you are short 7 bodies.

if those bodies are 3 star, it adds up.

Rivals counts 20; Scout counts 25. ESPN just goes by how well you filled your needs.

If you sign 20 LB's ESPN will count all of those equally

their ranking personifies what is wrong with the interpretation of the rankings regardless of the service. the number of recruits matters. except within a certain range i think that's bull shite. yes, credit should be given for numbers, but not the emphasis that is used. the avg star value should be given more weight as long as there is a certain number of guys signed, imo. i mean, a school signs 31, the attrtion is going to be horrific; is that weighted? as far as i know, no. while there is no perfect way to do it, i'm fine with being top 10 to top 15 over a 5 year period under the present system. with many, there is a strong over reliance on pure statistics. let them have their fun, but it is only one factor in winning football games.

they lost perhaps their most underrated commitment in brandon carter to TCU...that kid will do big things there.

this is how it should be done, IMO. average star power of the first 22.

Quality over quantity.

well that's why OU ranks lower, they only signed 17.

They go some good players, buts its a small class.

OU got the class they wanted. Two elite 11 QBs, although one will probably be a top ten in the baseball draft, a top 3 receiver, first choice at RB out of Texas.

Hated losing Brandon Carter, but got a last minute switch on a CB that was committed to Notre Dame.

Also a couple of under the radar guys at DT, one from Kansas that will be a stud.

Tough to beat Mack in Texas, but OU filled it's needs with good kids. Everyone will make it to campus.
