I know he's been quoted as saying he wants to be on the team next year and there's a video of him throwing dunks down on the TD page. So is he

A) On the team next year and actually contributes
B) On the team but minimal impact
C) No chance Miles lets him play

Usually this works out in favor of football. Weren't Michael Clayton and Marcus Spears supposed to play as well?

I suspect a similar work load that Tyron Johnson had last season

I would say B and then we he can't get playing time in SEC it will be football full time.
Football baseball is the only one you can really do both since the seasons don't overlap.
Football is not over until Dec, you can't learn big time college hoops by starting during SEC play.

Clayton was probably the most likely to do it since he was so athletic but even he and Spears couldn't swing it.

Drake Davis is a world class athlete and could very well be playing professional soccer right now if we chose to. Wouldn't count him out.

Having seen him play basketball dozens of times, I see him contributing very little on an SEC stage.

He could , but hopefully he won't. Out Basketball team is far from being fixed and he won't fix it either. I hope he is focused on Fb and can develop quickly.

He's probably better than anyone we're pulling off the bench currently.

That's the potential problem with Drake Davis - he never did much in high school football because he was always distracted with other interests. I think that's the way high school should be, so kudos to him, but hopefully he leaves the distractions behind and focuses on his craft - football.

He's known Johnny Jones for a long time and Davis expects to play at LSU.

One difference is that Saban was the coach then and Miles is the coach now. I'm not sure it was they couldn't swing it as much as Saban didn't let them.

I'd honestly like to see him play BB just to add depth and athleticism. He could turn into a high-energy, tough defensive stopper who can dunk. Not a bad guy to add to the team.
