re: Apparently SDS thinks Chattanooga is a sleeper to beat us
Posted by kmcarabante on 9/7/17 at 8:04 pm to ExpoTiger
Read the whole thing before saying that they mean they can beat us:
This is what they inferred:
"The Tigers looked solid offensively against BYU, but the offensive line is not a finished product. Nobody would be surprised if it took a bit for the Tigers to distance themselves from Chattanooga."
Don't assume sleeper always mean "even moderately likely to pull an upset.

Then, you mentioned everything but LB development, I think you go it backwards :rotflmao:

The kid seems legit. What are the recruiting services thinking to keep him as a 3*?

Can he successfully play olb for Aranda?..
re: What are the odds Drake Davis plays LSU Basketball next year?

He could , but hopefully he won't. Out Basketball team is far from being fixed and he won't fix it either. I hope he is focused on Fb and can develop quickly.

You didn't mention Herron and Gilmore, great recruits finally starting to live up to the hype.

The lost the best QB in Bama's history.. and managed to survive and win a championship with outcasts under center

then, they will probably be bashing a guy with a lot of improvement and hopefully with high accomplishments

Yes , Maybe the Gunner Kiel effect has something to do...
But then again. Harris got the experience of 2015 as an underclassmen. So I see it as : We sacrificed a year and (and a #2 hype ) for the year it was all about (2016)...
our 2013 class was under performing, then our 2015 year was merely a hope.
also . I have seen negative comments at Harris himself. They just won't comment on this specific post. Even Barrett Sallee or whatever, who I don't respect that much, declared us an 8-4 team because of harris

I think people is exagerating when they say we can't win with Harris at QB. The guy had a good season overall for a first year starter on a pro system ( 130 rating) . I get it, we lost three in a row and he didn't perform. Did you forget Mettemberger didn't play great as a RS-JR except for Bama?...
Growing In the system allowed him to raise in QB rating from 128 to about 171 (pro-football reference).
Have you seen Brandon Allen's developments from a So to a Sr ? .. 49 to 65 completion %.
McCarron and Luck had symilar paths; although McCarron started a little better but he was a RS-Sophomore ( the youngest starter on Bama with Saban to win something )
Pro styles REQUIRE time.
Yes, we need to adapt the system to the players.
Yes, we need to recruit qbs better.
Maybe, Cam and Les need to copy some of Kiffin stuff, and not be a spread team.
We get Bama at Home and return a ton of talent and experience everywhere.
We can win (at least make the playoffs) and HARRIS can prove his value if he stays in a similar system, just upgraded and avoid I injuries (the hernia worries me).
I am not sorry for the long rant.

By this time, I feel it is ridiculous how much you are paying attention to what the changes in this guy's ranking and ratings bring. We knew they were very good or great. It is not a video game. Let then drop their rankings , we have a hell of a class. If the drop "magically" the performance is not going down like in a video game update. We needed those guys... period
re: If Beckwith and White stay I can see LSU.....
Posted by kmcarabante on 1/16/16 at 11:25 pm to atltiger6487
Remember he might have had the injury (hernia) all the time. and he was a sophomore QB . No young QB in a pro style Excells right away in the SEC. Remember how Nett could not beat out Jefferson or Lee as a redshirt So.Then how bad he played the first half of the Junior Season. You need a veteran QB in a pro system. Saban did not trust McCarron until the last game of his third year at school.... for me there is no reason to believe Harris will be at least very good...and LSU'S offence.. good enough to beat Bama and Ole Miss at Home. Take care of business at Florida and A&M. We can definetely lose one of those or to Arkansas. But if this two return. We have a Bama type team. A lot of talent on first second and even third team.
11-1 and playoffs if No injuries to Fournette, Harris or Beckwith...
